Bruntlett is slowly becoming one of my favorite Astros. Man.... if this was in Houston, that would be a tie game (again).... phew Lidge (lights out...)
This was a huge win.... we got Rocket the W, we started off the road-trip on a good note (after leaving home on a sour note), and we pick-up a game on the Nats and the Marlins... 2 up in the WC chase.
Wooo Stros win Back to 10 games over .500 and gained a game on the Nats,Marlins and Phillies and didnt lose any ground. Roger with another amazing game and gets win #10...finally,cause he deserves it.
No kidding... apparently the ball just dies when they have the roof shut... it sure looks like that's what happened there. Speaking of that... why didn't they just go ahead and build a dome in Phoenix. I don't think I've seen a game played in open-air there since 2000. Its too hot during the day, and now apparently its too hot at night (and even if the temp is fine, the pitchers prefer it to be shut). They probably shelled out an extra $100 million just for the roof alone... no wonder they were on the verge of bankruptcy.
Living in Tucson I can tell you that only in April is the weather cool enough in Phoenix to have the lid open at the BOB.
Did anybody see the interview of Gonzo by Biggio's son? I was switching back between the pregame and For a Few Dollar's More on another channel. I heard that Biggio wrote all the questions including a joke about Gonzo's World Series winning hit.
Yup, called it the jamshot...Gonzo went to answer it, stopped and looked at Connor and said, "you know, you're just like your Dad". It was hilarious.
I fell asleep when the game was tied at 1-1, so I missed what was supposedly a great play in the field by Bruntlett. Anybody know where I can find highlights of this online?
