    Fernandez and KoKo both stink.

Someone has to be the whipping boy of the staff (the "Jay Powell Syndrome"). I nominate KoKo since hell be around longer than Fernandez.

    Stros win.

Had to burn too many bullpen guys, but I'm happy we are off to a good start.

Miller looked good and Bags and Doggy look to be in mid-season form.

Bidge off to a nice start too.

Yeah, but he did get out of an inning with the bases loaded 2 games in a row now, even if he did give up some runs first. I'm not defending him though, hope he starts pitching better.

    ya know whats odd lol

everytime I see duckworth it reminds me how little we got for wagner.

I'm amazed everytime that we traded wagner for duckworth and 2 other worthless players each time.

here's to hoping dotel can keep his pitches under control, didn't look particularly sharp today, but hopefully when a save opportunity comes he'll prove otherwise

bucholtz is one of our best prospects that we got in the wagner trade. There would be no pettite or clemens if we still had wagner on our team.

the wagner trade was essentially for bucholtz not duckworth. and according to all reports he's one of the top prospects in the country.

I think Bidge and Adam are the key. Did Bidge change his batting stance or swing. I've only seen the home opener and I think I've heard something about a change but I'm not sure.

Oh, and Dalgy is looking good.:p

Those two are important, indeed. We need them on base for our power stacked lineup. I think Biggio did change something, I know Ausmus did.

Oh, and by the way, it's Doggy!

Game 2 first pitch at 1:05 CT.

    Redding vs. Sheets 8.10 era

Lets continue the feast and give Redding some run support, no famine today. Lets go Astros.

Biggio gave up the big leg kick that he used to generate power. It was slowing down his swing and left him open to breaking balls (and many a slider away). You can see how much quicker his swing is. He may not hit many out this year (not his job anyway), but he should stay in the .300 range this year and take many more walks.

Poor Tim... doesn't look like he'll get much run support today, with the way Sheets is pitching.

Ben is now part of the honorary Astros-killer club. Only sad thing is that he gets rocked against other big lineups, but he masters Houston's.

Sheets looks amazing today! DAMN. 8 strike outs already, and it is the top of the 5th.

EDIT: Finally a couple of hits, 2 straight hits with 2 outs. Lamb and Ausmus with the hits. Man on 3rd. Tim up to bat.

At least Lance upped his pitch count with that battle. This isn't the Astros bats going cold- Sheets stuff looks tough tonight.

9Ks in 5 innings for Sheets.

Redding's putting on a solid performance as well. I have to remind myself that he's our #5 starter!

This looks like a different Redding- usually when he allows baserunners, he blows up, but he's pitched out of jams successfully to this point.

    As I type, more baserunners...

New Career high in Strike Outs by Sheets tonight. He has 10K's already. Top of the 6th. ANd he isn't done yet.

TOP 6 Astro batters are 0-14 today against Sheets.

EDIT: Make that 1-15! Bagwell just hit a double.
