Berkman was lollygagging on that and it cost us a an out.

Lance should have hustled a lil more.

Now it's cost us a run.

Lidge with 2 Ks to get out of a jamb.

    Damn, he is filthy nasty.

IMO, he throws too many consecutive fastballs. He should thrown more sliders. Its practically unhittable.

That game he lost against the Reds the other night was the nastiest I've ever seen him. He was downright electric.

That catcher was just dead set on a fast ball and swinging for the fences, and Lidge obliged.

Astros win!!! Best start ever at 19-10.

Take away 4 bad pitches (Oswalt to Bonds, Miller to Pujols, Lidge to Valentine, Oswalt to Mondesi) and 1 bad throw by Ausmus, and we could have been 24-5.

With the combintation of hitting and starting pitching, this team is unstopable.

    Go Astros!!

If the Astros win today, they'll be 20 and 10.

    That's a pretty sweet start.

What's scary is that at 19 and 10, the Astros only lead the Cubs by 2 games.

    Yes.

I'm very concerned about this. I don't see how the Stros could play much better than we're playing now, and the Cubs are right there with us.

I think it just might be nip and tuck all the way.

Astros are typically slow starters these last few seasons and don't start to play strong towards the middle of the season from what I've noticed, usually after all-star break. The fact that we're having a strong start already speaks wonders about how bright this season looks to be.

Perhaps they're saying the same thing about us... they've played great, yet are stuck in second place.

Remember, they "overachieved" last year and won only 88 games. We "underachieved" and won 87.

It will be down to the wire, but I like our chances.

When the Pirates were visiting Houston this past week. one of the Pirate announcers stated that the Astros will run away with the division. He really liked the make up of our team. Also, when the Astros were in Pittsburgh, I skipped class and watched Pettitte pitch. The fans around me were jealous of what the Astros have. Their stadium is very comparable to Minute Maid. I would give it a slight nod because Pittsburgh in general is a lot cleaner than Houston.

So, who else was yelling at Jimy last night to pinch hit for Redding when he came up in the 6th?
