I know you guys want to keep debating who's hotter - Jessica or her sis but I can't let this one go - funk music of the '70s bad?? A GIGANTIC WTF to the person that said that stupid ****! I seriously don't know what to say, other than congratulations fmullegun - you just caused me to be speechless about a music topic which is something that Fatty Fat b*stard has been trying to do to me for close to 8 years now. You deserve some kind of award for that. Good job.
(This thread lasting to a 4th page speaks well of the retention rate of young attractive girls with nice hoots) I'm with the others of WTF? on the funk and country thing. I'd even argue disco has more pure musical merit to it than half the music of today. I'd much rather play the best selling disco album rather than the best Britney Spears or Ashlee Simpson or Pitbull album. When did rock become the end-all be-all of whats acceptable as music (whether that comment was about supporting rock or not)? As good as rock is, it still has its specific type listeners when there are MANY types of people who listen to music.
Here are some of the bands that released music between 1974 and 1976... the 1970's can't be beat for diversity... there was more good music across the board than at any other time... I'm with Fmullgen on this one..... the 70's were a pretty sad time in regards to musical history. Personally speaking, I avoid the 70's nearly all together when it comes to music selection. I can listen to 90 hours of do-wop, big band, swing, classical, hip-hop, dubstep, alternative, new-wave, even elevator and am usually enjoying myself. 30 seconds of "classic" rock or disco and I am ready to punch kittens. 80's hair band is the only thing worse. my humbled opinion, of course.
lol. I mean, even if you didn't like the music, that list that got posted last page is a big chunk of rock history. Not too mention the impact funk had on r&b and hip hop years after.
The 100,000-strong Orange Bowl booing didn't help either, nor did being a spoiled brat on her reality show. I don't know what's worse: prolonging a sham marriage to boost your dead career, or riding the coattails of the person who did.
Exxxxxxxxcellent point. All music nowadays on any hits radio station is rock/pop-rock/soft-rock/quasi emo-rock. The 70's was a birthing time for different variations and styles of music, which defined styles that would come afterward, as a result of what happened in the 70's. That transition of one form of music to another usually happens every decade/couple decades but what happened in the 70's with music lasted into the early-mid 90's, IMO, until the late 90's-now, and now we have what we have now. Still like the music of today, though. I can find something good in almost any era of music and I like almost any genre, but the 70's were definitely a special time in music history.
Oh yeah, back on topic, Summary: Uh...Ashley Simpson, congrats on the nose. Still not as pretty as sister. To someone's point earlier, Dad is not a good man, "pimp" suits him well. Uh..., Ashley has no talent, yeah, SNL was awful, etc. etc., the Ashley Simpson Orangle Bowl thing was a tragedy and caused children to weep, and makes me want to "screeeeeeeee-uuuuuuuuuuum".
The 80's had the BEST MUSICS BEST CARTOONS BEST TV SHOWS it was the start of things ..... It was a time when things were ORIGINAL! now everything is a copy of something.
I've always found Ashlee to be the hottest of the Simpsons. I've always felt she was underrated ( in the looks department) because her sister would get all the attention. Clearly she has no musical talent but damn she is smoking. Damn shame she married that gay emo kid.
Jessica, no doubt about it. Ashley is too manufactured. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. Jessica has the face and the body, I don't know what pictures you guys are looking at...
http://www.nypost.com/seven/06042009/gossip/pagesix/tipsy_ashlee_simpson_jeers_hubbys_ex_172473.htm TIPSY ASHLEE SIMPSON JEERS HUBBY'S EX June 4, 2009 -- ASHLEE Simpson is married to Pete Wentz and she's the mother of his child, but she's apparently still insecure when it comes to her man's former flames. An out-of-control Simpson loudly trash-mouthed "Gossip Girl" actress Michelle Trachtenberg on Monday night at the "DJ Hero" video game party at LA's Wiltern Theatre, according to PerezHilton.com. Ashlee, Jessica Simpson's younger sister, had to be restrained at the event where Jay-Z and Eminem performed. The trouble started when Wentz and Simpson were seated near Trachtenberg, who dated Wentz before Simpson met the Fall Out Boy bassist. According to PerezHilton: "The evening started off very civilly. Pete and Ashlee had a pleasant conversation with Michelle and her boyfriend for close to 20 minutes, and even showed [Trachtenberg] some baby pictures of [Ashlee's] little boy, Bronx." But then Simpson started drinking. "Things got out of control," an insider was quoted. An increasingly loud Simpson began to give Wentz a lap dance while staring directly at Michelle and hurling insults at her. "She was grinding up on Pete like a stripper. It was actually pretty disgusting," a witness told the Web site. Things reached a climax when Simpson screamed at a confused Trachtenberg, "I hope you know, the whole time you were dating Pete, I was [bleep]ing him!" A bystander dragged Simpson away from Trachtenberg, who once starred in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," while Wentz looked mortified. Trachtenberg's spokesperson didn't return Page Six's calls. But Simpson's rep said, "It was just a misunderstanding. Ashlee has since apologized to Michelle and they remain on good terms." Meanwhile, Wentz and Simpson will celebrate his 30th birthday this weekend at club Bank at the Bellagio.
