Archos 404 player...

    I just bought one, it's a terrific little device. I was wondering if anyone else has it and if you may have useful tips or conversion softwares that you would recommend? I need to buy the software off their website to convert videos into an appropriate format, but does anyone know where I can get one for free? ;)

    I got a good deal on it too, so it was a no-brainer, really...

    I have the 605 WiFI but haven't messed around with it much. Love the hell out of it though.

    archos are pretty nifty, hows the battery life though? thats the only thing swayed me from buying it.

    Battery life on the wifis are relatively poor. But if you use the button that turns off the LCD and simply shuffle through music the battery life is outstanding. The large vibrant screen seems to drain it. A backup battery is cheap.
