What's wrong is people have learned what a drag it is to try to discuss it amidst all the trolling here.

Plus was too busy to follow immediately today. Last I saw was the mbAir update, which looked pretty good.

For my last two birthdays and this past Christmas, when my wife asked me what I wanted, I told her to "save your money, I'm getting the new macbook pro when it comes out." Today is my day. It will be nice to have a working question mark key again (My current lappy is almost five years old).

There didn't seem to be anything earth shaking involved.

Upgraded Macbook Airs to decent specs

    Macbook pros remain prohibitively expensive

Apple continues its pissing match with Google by replacing Google Maps with Apple Maps as a default

iOS6 is coming, but it may as well be iOS5.1....except they want to end of life support on 3+ year old devices in order to force people to buy another $800 iPad.

I like Apple products, I've got several to my name....but the company has stopped innovating like it did a decade ago and has become focused on incremental spec upgrades. Yawn.

I can't say I'm impressed with iOS6. They have to get away from the icons and give us a new look. It hasn't changed at all. I will wait to see what is in store for the iPhone 5 but if it doesn't blow me away I am going to wait for a Windows 8 phone.

This is someone that has 4 iPhones, 4 iPads, 2 iMacs, and 1 Mac Mini. I really like Apple but man am I getting fed up with iOS.

Can Google sue Apple for copying free turn by turn navigation? Apple has sued with much less. Just saying.

Turn by turn navigation wasnt a Google invention...they may have integrated it sooner than Apple, but that's about as far as it goes.

Is trolling one thread not enough?

I can relate to this. I don't know that I'm in line for a win8 phone because of it, not just yet, but I agree about the icons. Something needs to change in that interface at this point.

Coincidentally I'm nearly in the same boat. Five yr old computer here too. I never want gifts, so my wife just told everyone to get me an Apple gift card. So now I'm stocked up on them.

But I'm going to wait for the early reviews and see if there are any common complaints considering this is the first model. I can wait a little bit for to get the kinks worked out if that's the case.

The new Mac Book Pro with Retina Display is probably going to make me sell my current macbook to get it. Lot of nice features. Thinner, sick display, etc.

I agree that it can be boring, but I also feel that there's only so much they can do without completely changing the concept of a successful product.

While there weren't any BIG innovations, I like how they finally ripped the optical drive from the Macbook to help make it thinner and allow more space for the battery. Given all the other storage alternatives (cloud, sd cards, usb), CDs were bound to become obsolete anyways.

how does it work it in terms of the size of text on web pages, applications etc? i thought increasing resolution makes it smaller..i remember buying a 15" laptop with 1920x1080 or something resolution once and my gosh..that was a pain to read.

I don't think this is the case at all. Just 3 years ago, they revolutionized the whole mobile computer industry with tablets. A few years before that, they basically changed the entire smart phone industry. Before that, they were just doing spec upgrades for iPods and Macs for many years. If you expect them to do something revolutionary every year, I think that's just unrealistic expectations more than anything else.
