Finally. What took them so long? A company that strives on being leading edge has just now gotten past the single button mouse. Mighty Mouse Link
I gave up on my Apple mouse a long time ago... I use a Microsoft Optical Notebook Mouse for my PowerBook.
The mouse that came w/ my Mac gave me carpal tunnel in 2 days....had to toss that POS into the trash and get one of those Microsoft intellimouse explorers....man that thing is so smooth it's like sticking your arm in a box full of supermodel funbags..
I've owned just about every optical mouse MS has made (use 3 different models atm), and have loved them all. Only one I didn't really like was the wireless I got, but I've never liked any wireless mouse because they weigh so much compared to a corded mouse.
I have a Kennsington 5-button mouse that has been great. I'll give this a try, but why does it look like they went for form over function to me? That one little button as a scroll wheel? I'm still skeptical.
They just put the rubber button from laptops on a mouse, big whoop wanna fight about it? Seriously, I hate that thing, it's hard to be precise with it.
replacing the scroll wheel with a d-pad would've been innovative. using the scroll wheel makes me motion sick.
I don't like them because they are heavier due to batteries... even the ones that are rechargeable with a battery pack still are too heavy for my liking. I am an avid gamer (CS, DoD, BF2, etc) and I like a light mouse, so it just didn't fit for me. They work fine though.
i'm expecting Microsoft to surrender any minute now. 90% market share is nothing compared to an improved mouse.
I'm using the Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse now. It is a bit different to use, but I got to used to it real quick and I think it's a great mouse; never had any lag problems. I'm using it on a laptop which makes no differenc really, but the only thing is the mouse has the receiver and long few feet of cord meant more for a desktop, whereas wireless mice specifically designed for laptops will have the little USB-key like thing that connects directly to the USB port (some are even bluetooth, and some even double as a flash memory device). My main issue with this particular mouse is the scroll button isn't great; since it can go left/right, I thought that would be an issue, but it isn't. The problem was when I middle-clicked, half the time it wouldn't register and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out you have to angle your middle click down from the top instead of straight down on any other scroll mouse. But yeah, not dealing with the cord is soooooo much easier.
Yea im using the logitech mx700 series wirless mouse and keyboard and i really like it. Im hoping to get the new mx1000 laser mouse but im really happy with mine that im not sure to get it. But most new wirless mice have very good response time.
