Apple trying to play catch-up with Android results in Apple adding a bunch of Android features to iOS. Lol. Patent infringement whaaaat?
i was talking to my gf last night and i was like oh hey u know in the new apple OS update, there's a neat little feature for declining calls with a text message. She goes oh I have that on my flip phone...
And Android copied stuff from iOS and WebOS. It's the nature of the business - each company is going to do something their way, and then they will look at the results and take the best of their competition and try to incorporate it into their own system. That's what you WANT - you don't want companies sticking with inferior stuff just because they don't want to be like the competition. It's no different in the computer industry, car industry, food industry, or anything else, really.
Thank you for saying exactly what most apple haters can't seem to understand. It's called a business and this is how they generally work.
I agree this stance. I don't get why people even care who invented what and whose phone is better. It's all about personal preference in the end because all the top smartphones are essentially the same at this point. I'm sure the android "fanboys" will disagree with this but it's the truth.
You were involved in the discussion and were expressing your problem with being unable to update your ancient phone. Is it really this hard for you to figure out why I replied to you? Wow
I swear, the growth of Android has created a lot of guys who are the very thing they supposedly hate. There are lawsuits all over the place with all of these guys, back and forth. It is naive to think this is all going one way, or that nothing has any merit. If anything, it's the patent system that needs an overhaul. But until that happens, all the major players are going to work within the system. I agree that a 2 or 3 year old device is less of a problem, but that's not really the issue. jay is right, and his phone is an example. The Incredible was already getting much later updates (and some pulled back and released even later because of problems) even 1 year into it's life cycle, all because these handsets are controlled by the inept carriers. It's perfectly reasonable for some not to want to deal with that. If MS was able to play it's cards right, they would have that. Whether or not they can pull it off remains to be seen.
I know the iphone uses GPS as well as the Russian GLONASS equivalent. Maybe a native GPS app by Apple will allow for full integration of both satellite systems and provide more accurate results. Just a thought. I’ve been on Android since the G1 so…
Did I state anywhere that I was dissatisfied with my phone? Did I say that I even wanted an update or demanded one? Why can't people just admit their mistakes and move on?
At least you had the sense to not try to come up with some argumentative rebuttal. Until this gem of a post. Thanks for the contribution macho man.
Wow please show me where. I even said I was perfectly fine w/ my phone a week ago in the 2012 cell phone thread. Although I did follow up that the videos of the HTC One and S3 definitely gave me the notion to consider upgrading even though I have no need to.
Lawsuits are just a part of the process these days to try and inhibit the competition as much as possible. And you never know, just bc Android implements something into their phone before Apple, doesn't mean that Apple didn't have a patent for that technology before hand. All that stuff is just crazy nonsense.
I'm not doctor but I'm sure they could run some tests. Good luck. Public perception is what it is though.
