i was just visiting espn houston board and somebody just posted a link that mentions some health problem with yao. anybody read chinese? maybe they can see what that article is all about.
I don't have a link, but I do know that Yao's been having some pain in his left leg as a result of overworking. This is a little bit unnerving, as he fractured the same leg a few years ago when he was playing in China. Maybe W&S or prlen can provide a link w/translation.
any idea if this problem just came up? was it a result of n. american diet? may need his own cook and translater.
Nothing to worry about. yao and teammates just felt exhausted after palying in nine cities all over the China in a month. now they are back in their training center in Beijing and having a rest. it said that yao's blood pressure is relatively high so that the team doctor monitors yao's blood pressure very closely. It mentioned that JVF sent the strength coach to China to check out yao's weight. The stength coach asked yao to give up steak and ice stream for now. ( i guess they had asked yao to eat steak and ice stream to gain some weight ). He thinks the best thing for yao now is to have a much needed rest. yao said the rocket's training plan worked well and he will stick with it.
Thats strange that he was to eat Steak to gain weight because they often tell dieters to eat pleanty of meat to LOOSE weight, at the same time stopping all carbohydrates. I have heard that when building muscle bulk its good to eat steak.
Yetti, for those who want to increase mass: protein builds muscle. more muscle = more strength. . . . for those who want to lose weight: protein builds muscle. more muscle = more strength. no carbs = less starch & fat. add on working out and the muscle development and you start to burn the fat that surrounds the muscle. ....but, if you were an olympic track & field coach...shouldn't you know this??? hmmmmm........
