Sort of. I won one on a radio contest a couple of years ago. It takes forever. You have to be pretty lazy if you can't sweep your own kitchen floor. I think mine is sitting under our bed right now.

Oh, don't worry. I'm really lazy.

They have new ones that you can schedule to clean while you are at work every day.

Man, my dogs would have a heart attack and brain aneurysm at the same time if they saw the freaking vacuum cleaner start running around by itself.

I don't have a roomba, but I do have a bossa nova. I'm also thinking about getting a merengue.

A little Latin beat will do it some justice.

I prefer a little quicker pace with Cha-cha or Samba.

You're too busy painting old school Rocket logos on your walls. ;)

I need a lawnba to pick up all the dog crap in my backyard.

Read reviews of it on amazon.com or something. The original ones were expensive toys for the most part and were only so-so in actually vacuuming anything. They may have improved them - I dunno.

I have read Amazon reviews but don't really trust them. I feel like they are all from people with agendas.

I have the one Discovery one which is the one you can schedule it to go off. I love the thing. It does a great job of going under my couches where I never vacuum. So instead of dustballs now I have nice clean floors. It helps that most of my first floor is all laminate flooring or tile. It works great on carpet too though. My bedroom is carpet and it keeps the carpet underneath my bed very clean. That would definitely never have been vacuumed either.
I usually manually turn it on but I do have it scheduled to go off at 9am on Sundays. It's almost like an alarm clock.
Plus it finds it's way back to the charger when it's low on battery. It's a trip just to watch.

    Great! thanks!

Does it have problems going from room to room or tile to carpet etc? Is it loud?

It has no problems going from room to room. Though you have to remember that it is not exactly efficient in vacuuming a room. It does have some algorithm that will help it eventually vacuum an entire room but it vacuums over the same spots a lot. Of course since it's a robot doing it's not usually a big deal. But what that means is that it will only do about 2 big rooms before it needs to go back for charging. And if your house is big enough there's a good chance it won't make it back (finds its way back) to the charger before it runs out of juice.
So I usually just grab it and toss it into my bedroom and let it clean the bedroom and bathroom and closet. For my Sunday cleanings I have it automatically turn on and clean my living room, dining room, and family room. It comes with virtual walls that also work on a timer so I can keep it out of certain rooms to ensure it does a good job in the ones I want.

It's a little noisy, but not too bad (we have the vaccuuming one).

Work great on hard floors and smooth carpet. Esp. handy for going under couches, beds, etc but pick-up any little junk first... it can get stuck. Ours rarely finds tha base before it dies but no big deal. The room guards work great, but you may need to buy an extra or two and they're not cheap.

I'd say worth it. You'll be surprised how much it picks up.
