Anyone know what he has been up to in the off season? Any quotes from him on Ming? Any apperances on radio or in public? Has he grown/bulked up? I haven't been able to find out what his offseason has been like. It seems like I knew what Francis and even Langhi and Collier were doing after their rookie seasons. Thanks for any help.
I just think he and Ming might mesh like penut butter and jelly. Their games could be extremely complimentary. I mean, you have to keep your focus on the 7-5 giant when you are going to the hole. Eddie can get so many weak side blocks, and should have all kinds of opportunities at the basket.
So Rocket!!! posts, like a thousand times without having insider info. He then proceeds to say "we shouldn't get Ming, we should trade for... hmmm... like Brand or something". He then enumerates a ton of trades, all of which are obviously speculative, and all of which are totally in the vein of his opinion as far as 'what to do'. He then later posts "sources say we're trading with the Clippers, perhaps for Brand". All the while Doc Rocket is saying Ming is for us. And all of a sudden, Rocket!!! is an insider. We later draft Ming. We don't trade with the Clippers. We don't trade for Kevin Garnett. Really, why is this so hard? crash, why are you still buying Rocket!!!'s crap? He is probably just a heypartner bi-uid posting a bunch of bull****.
Achebe, Don't you think you are being a little hard on ROCKET!!!? Clutch has said many times that there are many trades that the Rockets are not able to put the finishing touches on for several reasons. Last year Doc hinted around at us getting Reef and said if the deal went through we would all be dancing in the streets. Well the deal did not go through but that does not mean that the Rockets were not in discussions for Reef. The fact that the trade never materialized did not make Doc any less credible. Even Pops hinted around that the Rockets were exploring trade options for the 1st pick. As I recall when Doc first proclaimed that Yao was coMING, Pops said that was not what he was hearing. It did not make Pops any less credible. More than anything though I am a big Houston Rockets fan and a big Eddie Griffin fan and so is ROCKET!!! so I find it hard not to like him. You can call me a little nieve if you want but when ROCKET!!! say's that he has talked to Eddie and he looks great it gets me excited. I have no reason to doubt him.
I don't mean to be incredulous. I actually blame it on my mommy. She lied about the Easter Bunny, she lied about Santa. Now all of a sudden she thinks it will be magically easy for me to believe in this 'god' thing. I personally think Rocket!!! is funny... but I read the path of his thinking. It was clear as day, exactly as I described. The search function works right now... why don't you review the suggestions Rocket!!! made about acquiring other players due to his (Rocket!!!) skepticism of Ming? Why don't you point out where he says "guys you aren't going to believe this, but I met this guy and he told me yadda yadda yadda". There was no transition. Rocket!!! woke up one day as an insider. Hell, I was receptive at first; but upon recognizing the change in state I realized that one of our own was full of ****. BTW, sure trades don't materialize for whatever reason... but Doc nailed Ming from the get go, as he has other trades. And he apparently had never heard any of the stuff that Rocket!!! mentioned, so what are we to believe? There are a ton of sources, whose information is all equally valid, or that the one that said Ming was a Rocket from the get go; the source that Clutch can actually confirm with other sources is correct. If it makes you feel any better; I've bugged Moochie and Carroll Dawson in Salt Lake City. I've chatted with Eddie's cousin. Those are probably a few of the reasons that the Rockets won't take part in the RMR this year But it doesn't make me a source.
I'm basically a newbie here, having arrived about the same time as Franchise. I don't know the history of a lot of our longer term posters. And I am not defending Rockett!!!, but did he ever say he had inside information. For that matter, is there anything we do know as a fact about the background of our favorite inside sources.
