I like it. Their sound is definitely evolving, but I think it might be one of those listen-to-a-few-times-and-start-to-like-it records. Just put Satisfaction is the Death of Desire in your cd player and reminisce of the good ol' days.
finals, aren't ALL bands the type you mention? I bet if you listen to music to which you had NEVER listened will begin to sound appealing to you after a few times. Your ears and hearing associate "known" sounds. It has been proven. I am downloading that weirdly-named song NOW...
i agree, i think this will grow on me. the new lamb of god is diffferent but i like it. i'm waiting for the new mastadon, i hope it doesnt blow.... same for killswitch, and early next year when overcast releases an album those should be awesome! i'm liking these new metallica songs, but they're not songs of rock ledgends: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZi15-Ke5xs&mode=related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snPAOzp2YOA&NR
Come on man, how could you not like a song in which he keeps singing "What happened in Mexico, stays in Mexico"??? That is pure lyrical genius.
I disagree. Can you really say Matchbox 20 got better over time after Yourself or Someone Like You? I tried, but never got into their albums after that one. One of my favorite metal bands, Becoming the Archetype, has just put out some new material on the internet, and I'm a little disappointed because it sounds like every single song off their debut album. Then if you look at say, Underoath, they totally evolved from death metal to a emo/hardcore band that catered to 15 year old emo kids. I didn't like "They're Only Chasing Safety" at all, but the brand new record they just released is something I've been able to love from the get-go and listen to all the time. It's all a matter of circumstance. I'm not very picky at all in my music selection, but that doesn't mean if I listen to anything for awhile I'm going to fall in love with it...
