Try 5-HTP. It naturally increases your level of serotonin for $6 a bottle.

Because everyone reacts the same in every situation.... That is such an ignorant statement.

My psychiatrist put me on Wellbutrin (well, the generic, bupropion). It seems to be doing pretty well, but it's a bit weaker than others I was told, so you'll end up with a higher dosage.

The plus is that the side affects aren't bad. The worse that I've experienced is a little bit of dry mouth. But as long as I pound down 5 or 6 glasses of water while at the office, it's a non-issue (as long as you don't mind pissing half a dozen times a day.)

These are all very good suggestions. Thanks.

To those of you that think I shouldn't depend on a pill: I'm not.

I'm using it as a supplement to go with the positive things I'm doing to cope. It's not that simple, unless you've been through it. A chemical imbalance isn't a simple throwaway.

The human body is just a complex set of chemical reactions, modifying the chemistry if something is out of balance is a reasonable course of action.

Nobody looks twice if take an antibiotic when your immune system isn't up to the task at hand. But brain chemistry? oh no you need to suck it up,man.

If you want to cocktail it, you can mix the aforementioned welbutrin with one of the SSRI's you've taken in the past (prozac, zoloft, paxil, etc).

I'd personally try that before a combo using abilify.

Have you tried this? I don't think it works.
