why would Cleveland do this deal? Getting out of Jamison's contract (which only has 1 year left after this season) isn't worth it for the cavs to trade their two best players. Varajao is coveted greatly around the league, and Gibson has arguably been there best player this season
Hell to the ****ing NO to "father time" Jamison, I mean seriously OP WTF!? Its a stupid trade target..
Will Antawn Jamison Be on the Move Again in February? We saw it a year ago. Jamison was dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers in February in hopes to help LeBron James and the city win a title. That worked out really well. This year Cleveland is just trying to win a game. They're currently in last place in the league and have yet to win ten games. They're essentially playing for the top lottery pick again. But this time there's no super star waiting to be drafted number one. The Cavs are in a tough spot. Jamison has one year left on his contract after this season. It isn't the easiest of deals to move. But Cleveland will pull the trigger and dump the big man off to another team. Jamison wants to win. He was frustrated for so long in Washington with a rebuilding team. He was traded to help a team win. He can't do it by himself now. He's in the same spot he was with the Wizards, watching a team suffer and try to rebuild. He can still play despite his age. At 34 Jamison is averaging 17 points and six rebounds per game. He still has the ability to help a team win. The Cavs should rid of him and begin the rebuilding process. We know they're getting a top lottery pick. The best option for Jamison would be the Houston Rockets. Les Alexander is loaded and could accept the fact Jamison has a good bit on money left on his contract. The Rockets lost Yao Ming to injury and he is out for at least the next four months. Bring in Jamison to help Houston succeed in the West. The great thing about it is, his contract expires in 2012. With his big salary coming off the books, we can go after a superstar free agent like Chris Paul or Dwight Howard. If not that at least we'll get Gerald Wallace.
so we want to rebuild with younger talent and want our defense to improve so one of the solutions is to get old ass no defense jamison?
Dude, WTF?!?! .. First, we have a ton of PF's(Scola, Hayes, Patterson, Hill, Jeffries) so where in hell are we going to get the minutes to play him?? and 2nd, Houston is not an attractive place, and we don't have the roster to attract any big name, so stop dreaming about the 2012 free agency(unless you want to turn us into the NY knicks of the past decade) ... Also "help houston succeed in the west" Are you freaking serious?!... wow, SMDH
I understand your concern, but the reality is we have literally zero defense anyways the way we've been playing with the "premier perimeter defender of the league in Shane Battier" and "the best low-post defender of the conference in Chuck Hayes". Getting Jamison will ensure we are still favorites for getting major free agents in 2012. If not, he will be a major trade chip next trade deadline. Jamison can only help this team. Jefferies and Hill look like they bring negative value to the team.
no...just no. nobody is gonna look at the rockets like "OMG they got 34 YEAR OLD ANTWAN JAMISON...with me they will definitely become a contender" he won't make this team better. we will remain medicore with or without him.
Jamison can't play Center. Jamison can't help this team. He couldn't even help LeBron James in the playoffs how in the hell can he help this group of guys do anything useful.
Jamison is one of the top layers on his crappy team, but in Houston he would bring another double figure average scorer at the 4 off the bench. Which we don't have. You want to say his age is a negative? Doesn't seem like it.
