OK, I saw all of this one.

    Why not more Tmo?

Rice 'n' Williams shoot a combined 9-26, with Wiliams in particular consistently missing open shots and playing poor defense. Rice looked pretty good except for that play where Odom made him do a 'split'. Rice was hot for a while in the 3rd.

Tmo, despite getting almost no looks, makes 2 cool free throws and plays solid defense on Odom. Granted, Wizard did hit a big 3 pointer, but who's to say Tmo wouldn't have done the same?

The weakest position this night, though, was PF. KT, bless his heart, was out of his league except for the 1st quarter or so, and Eddie Griffin was jittery, and pretty atrocious with his shots.

Also, put that Tierre Brown guy in. Steve Francis is clearly not the right PG for this team :)

TMO ... I'm all for Rocket's fans wanting to see other players play. BUT HAS IT OCCURRED TO YOU THAT WE ARE 2 - 0 ? Rookies EARN their playing time and it just so happens Terence hasn't cracked into the rotation yet. BIG DEAL. It's the Houson ROCKETS not the TMO Rockets. Go hug your dog or something. Some of us are ECSTATIC about two clutch overtime victories. Keep the negativity to a minimum please. I'm sure there are others that would appreciate this also. Thanks.

Jack_Hammer, I think you're blowing this out of proportion. It's not like Tmo is badmouthing the rockets or is saying that he isn't happy that we're 2-0. All I see is him asking some questions about the subsitution patters that he finds questionable, to those that may be more knowledgeable than he. As well posting some of his observations from the game. All in all there isn't all that much negativity going on, and I think you're reading into the post a little too much.

As for a response to Tmo, I can't really say because I didn't get to see the game :( I listened in but you cant get a good picture of what's going on. My one thought would be that Rudy's trying to let Rice and Walt shoot their way into form and get them more reliable as the season goes on. That would probably be more usefull in the long run for the team than getting minutes for Morris in the early games of the season. Although both should be priorities. :)

I second that. TMO is a rook. His time will come but I would hate to loose a game for a rook mistake. Rice and Walt won't do anything dumb.

TMO will get his game time in non-critical moments until he proves he is better than Walt. Until then....Rudy will put in Walt. That is why players like him. I also happen to agree.

TMo, it is nice that you are a fan of Terrence Morris, and I understand that, as such, you would like him to get more time. But you have to realize that Morris is going to be let into the game slowly, and I doubt Rudy would like to put him into situations where the game is tight, especially late. Rudy will do what it takes to win, and often times that means putting in better players. Sure, Rice has been shooting poorly, but if you play Morris instead, when will he ever get his shot going?

If you start one of these threads after every game that Morris doesn't get a significant amount of minutes, you will be starting a good deal of threads, and you will become very unpopular.

Very few second rounders get much playing time there first year. The roster's 12 deep... and Langhi and Tmo are at the end of it.

Tmo will get some time in blowouts. If he plays well, they might give him a chance elsewhere. But in a tight game, it's just not worth the risk.

Just curious, are you really a relative or close friend of Tmo or something? :)

I like your sense of humor.

Tmo, I agree with you. Rudy T and the Rocks are carrying the Wizard. He played way too much. He seem handicapped to me. For all of those happy about 2-0 please note that we could easily be 0-2, simply because Walt has not delivered. I have no problem with him being waived and taken out of the way, just taking up space.

Walt will not be waived for many reasons. First, he's a veteran backup at the 3. If we were playing for the lotto again, I'd say fine - let a rookie play backup - we don't need the depth. However, if you are planning to make a splash in the playoffs, you don't just let depth like that go.

Second, Rudy has to shelter Tmo. Remember how he didn't have as much confidence in his shot the last 2 years? In the preseason, Tmo was as hot and cold as Walt. If we threw him in the lineup to sink or swim, he might sink out of sight forever. Rudy knows how to bring rookies along - let him do his job.

Third, Walt's contract is a huge asset - as it's $5M in cap relief plus he is a 3 point shooter. That will be a valuable asset to two types of teams at the trade deadline. If it turns out that we don't need Walt or need another 4/5 more, he will be traded then - much better than releasing him now, doncha think?

In the future, please bear in mind that I am not completely serious when I make these 'angry parent' posts. I agree with the arguments being made. I think Rudy T is a fine coach, and that he will get Tmo in when the time is right.

From what I have read on the board, RudyT sounds like a great coach and brings along the rooks slowly. Logically TRock needs minutes, but I feel RudyT will stress building his CONFIDENCE up gradually. Saw some great posts in the #1 Angry Parent thread two days ago. Agree with one poster from the other day that maybe the Rockets are showcasing Walt to be traded. "Det The Threat", TMo played with Terence in high school at Thomas Johnson HS in Frederick, Md. and knows him firsthand. FREDTERP

Exactly. I couldn't have said it better. Walt was a big reason why the Rockets won that game and are 2-0.

I saw where you said, Tmo, that you are not being serious about posting after every game another "angry parent" post. That's good because I think you would do this after every game the Rockets play this year -- not being satisified until Morris is starting.
