Not really, the Rockets aren't going to unload any of their contracts as they only have 33 million guaranteed for next season anyway. If Philly doesn't unload some players then they have no flexibility for the foreseeable future.

They have in Speights already a raw big man, I think they would prefer Chase. But the trade is very unlikely, unless a third team appears accepting Martin or Aaron.

If we want Iguoldala, we can start looking for teams that would be willing to acquire Aaron o Martin.

    New Jersey (Martin)
    Toronto (Brooks/Martin)
    Cleveland (Brooks/Martin)
    Atlanta (Brooks)
    Portland (Brooks)
    Sacramento (Brooks)

    I can't see more teams.

Rebuilding means they need to get some young players and draft picks. Who cares about unloading contracts. Unloading contracts doesn't rebuild, that's just disposing.

They already have plenty of young talent and draft picks, that's the point. Either they do nothing and "rebuild" by default or they actively try and make the team better with their excess assets. And teams with as much proven talent as the Rockets normally choose the latter.

Getting Iggy is unloading assets?? It is clear that Battier and Bud are not getting it done on either end of the floor. I am willing to trade some combination of: Lowry, Battier, Lee, Jeffries, Bud, Hill, Patterson and picks for Iggy. I would like to keep Hill but it wouldn't be a deal breaker. Lowry is BYC so Philly would be taking back extra salary in a trade with him and I just don't think they need him.

The guy was saying that the Rockets don't need to rebuild in a month, because they has a low amount of commited salary. It wasn't in reference to Iggy or assets. Duh.

I also agree with this. I particularly want Iggy more for his defense rather than his offense, I also think he compliments Brooks better because of Iggy's defense

David Thrope over at ESPN had this to say about Iggy to Houston during his Chat today...

I am not so sure about AB and Kev in the backcourt together anymore but Iggy would certainly help.

We need at LEAST one versatile player and Iggy is perfect, especially at the SF.

Iggy and Lowry in transition would be terrifying.

Iguodala is a one side player. All he can do is defend and he's even overrated in that. His offense is nothing but fast break dunks and put backs and lob dunks. He's extremely overrated.

I don't see him helping the Rockets at all to be honest about it.

I don't feel you have an accurate scouting report.

Iggy is the perfect 'system fit' on both sides of the ball. Where he has the ball on the wing creating off a catch and shoot where ball movement and player movement is the key will give him good looks and the ability to create for himself and others. They need a player of his calibur if they continue to use Brooks/Martin in the back court. He will be to the Rockets what Rasheed was for the 04 Pistons. With Yao/Scola/Iggy/Martin/Brooks five border-line All-stars. They also need someone who can lock down his man and create for himself. Right now they have only Brooks who can create for himself.

He is a good defender at the 2&3 positions which would help tremendously if paired with Martin. (Career avg of 1.8 steals pg)

He is also entering the prime of his career. He would thrive in Adelman's system because of his passing ability. He has averaged 16ppg/6rpg/5apg in his career which has been wasted with the 76ers. Sounds like a solid all-around offensive player to me.

He would add defense, passing, and rebounding to this team. All of these are things the Rockets are desperately lacking. His game is more than likely to improve if he gets to play for the rockets. We need someone that is able to play above the rim every night.

Try to think of Iggy as what we wished Ariza could have been.
