I remember last year morey was asked who teams call about the most and 1st was brooks,2nd was trevor. I know for a fact they have tried to trade shane, but no one wants him. Now if a team feels like they need a vet, wing defender off the bench, someone might call, but they didn't last year.
I am sure they have, and now that he is expiring his value goes up. BTW, if Ish keeps playing the same level as he is now, watch for Lowry to go next summer too... DD
Id like to see him a bit more seasoned before I made Lowry expendable. That is, upgraded to decent defender and decent shooter.
Shane was on the block the last 2 seasons and so was Ariza last season. So his departure did not exactly stun me. As one guy put it (forgot his name) said Kevin Martin is so alike Reggie Miller same looking shot and similar offensive moves. What you see in Reggie Miller's career is what you'll see in Martins.
I 2nd this. I like Smith, but he needs a few more games and is certainly proven to be a Rondo type player can do everything except shoot. You know what i mean they have similar game. And improving shooting is the easiest thing to do imo.
I think, our GM is an awesome GM, but I wouldn't believe everything he told the public. And, as far as why Philly would want Lowry when they have their star PG, well, why would we want him, then?
Miller wanted the ball late and in the 4th and was legendary late game in the playoffs. Martin is a legendary ghost in the 4th.
As I have said, guys who rely on a third party to be effective will struggle when said 3rd party swallows their whistles late in games. It is why Lowry and Martin are not closers...they are not good at getting off a good shot on their own. DD
Right now I think the sixers are keeping Iggy. Turner isn't having a great start so far. Honestly, I think Evan Turner will probably end up an average player or somewhat a bit above average at best. BTW, the Rockets don't have enough assets for Iggy. We would have to part ways with one of our highly young talents for Iggy like Pat Pat, Brooks, Hills or even Martin for the sixers to consider.
Being rude? You said he had one good game, which was horse manure. He had more than one good game, which was my point.
Yeah, saying someone is talking out of their azz is rude... Ok, he had a couple of good games, overall he was not great...agreed? DD
agree. after this summer with team USA he looked great but i have to believe his stock is dropping now - he's battling a nagging injury and he's putting up poor numbers (esp 3 pt %). probably due to new coach, new players, playing through pain, and possibly some wear and tear from the summer. the 76ers and their potential trading partners are in limbo until we can see him playing at 100% again.
His offense was spotty and yes Roy was too quick for him, but he hit some huge fourth quarter shots and played really well in a lot of the playoff games. He gave our team attitude and played his tail off and was a reason why we advanced. You always disliked him and never supported us having him, which is understandable...but it skews your view of the positives that he brought to our team that season. And I did agree that we shouldn't have resigned him and that Ariza wasn't a good fit on the team last year. Apologies if I seemed rude to you, but it agitates me when people distort facts when arguing their point.
Some combination of Jeffries/Battier, Bud/Lee, Hill and maybe a pick should do it... They could get over $6 mil expiring in Jeffries (who may be able to be bought out cheaper), young talent in Hill, Taylor, Lee or Bud and a pick to go along with it. As for the talent you mentioned trading, I would trade Pat Pat and "Hills" in an instant for Iguodala..
