Well according to Yahoo Amare is officially on the trading block. I know Amare is one of the best players in the NBA, and statistics wise so is Bosh. Unfortunately I haven't seen much of Bosh to know which player I'd rather have with the Rockets. Also we have to analyze which player would play better off of Yao Ming ? I know the whole Amare/Shaq thing didn't work out very well, and i am still hesitant to sign a pf to a max contract when we have a low post presence like Yao on the team. Your thoughts ?
Haha I just posted in Dish about this earlier today! I feel like Amare would be a great addition to this team, much moreso than Bosh. Bosh is a good player, but I think the offensive explosion from Amare mixed with how well he would protect Yao makes him the most logical choice. Think about it, if we got Amare we would in essence have the two contenders for ROY from Yao's first season. Plus, with Amare we could easily sit Yao so he doesn't have to play heavy minutes. The problem with an Amare tho, is the notion of who is the odd man out. Is it Landry? Scola? Where does Chuck Hayes fit? Amare brings in more questions than answers. I am somewhat split, but if it was somehow just a straight trade Amare for Mac I would do it without thinking... The problem is, you know Phoenix is gonna ask for some rookie love, a chase, a landry, something along those lines...
Neither appear to be on their way to Houston. Bosh won't be moved until the offseason(either S&T or he walks) and Stoudemire supposedly said he doesn't want to play in Houston and Houston wasn't/hasn't been linked to him.
Neither. Hate Amare since he said he didn't like Htown, Bosh would be okay but he is not that clutch guy we need. Unless its for free(aka for Tmacs expiring).
Bosh is MUCH more likely to sign with us in free agency than Amar'e would be. MUCH MUCH more likely. But Amar'e is also more likely to be traded by Phoenix than Bosh is by Toronto Bottom line? We ain't gettin' either.
I'm going to go with Bosh I feel like Amare is going to be exposed as a system player if he leaves Phoenix.
Bosh by a mile. Although Amare is having another solid season with Phoenix, his skill set is no where near as good as Bosh. He is a weak defender. I believe Amare has been playing this well is because he is playing with Steve Nash. In other words, Bosh is better both offensively and defensively and he is younger than Amare.
Amare never averaged a double-double for a entire season. When your a Phoenix Suns player ofcourse you don't want to play in Houston. Unless your a ring chaser.
My fault. But from the recent rumors, he doesn't appear to be linked to us.(Which I'm assuming why the OP brought up Stoudemire, because of the recent rumors)
I think either player would be a good fit here. Both are athletic big men that can stretch the defense and hit the outside jumper. both would present a big man in the middle thats capable of blocking or altering shots. But i'm more sold on Bosh because a large part of Amare's success is because of Nash and the system they play.
Amare is trash. He is on course to set a record for youngest cancerous team killer of all time. I wouldn't trade Landry or Scola for Amare straight up. He doesn't like centers, yet he doesn't want to be one. He has verbally refused to improve his rebounding/defensive game. All that and his numbers are going to massivley deflate in any system that doesn't have a PG virtuoso like Nash constantly feeding him. No, no, a thousand times, no. Bosh is pretty good though. =)
What player or team really likes to play in Houston? Even Carlos Boozer might not like to play in Houston and really who does? If your under contract with another team who has a chance to play againt them in Houston? Does this mean he won't be a Houston Rocket? Not at all he's simply saying he don't want to play in Houston meaning going on the road to play a good team.
Amare would compliment with Yao better, but I'd prefer neither. I don't think the power forward spot needs to be fixed at all, we need a scoring wing player not a scoring big man player.
