With all these Marc Jackson whiners/bashers, I'd like to hear their take on what the Rockets should have done instead. At 3.25 mill, maybe we can lure Shaq? Perhaps we could clone Wilt Chamberlain? Anthony Mason is the only other viable guy worth signing. Contrary to what some morons here believe, there aren't many superstars who are available at 3.25 mill, nor are there many teams who are willing to trade their superstars at this point. All the good players have already been traded. Right now, the teams are just looking to sign guys off the street to join their training camps. I can't imagine what these crybabies wanted the Rockets to do with the "free" money given by the NBA. We are lucky to have the exception to begin with, and we are more lucky to be able to sign someone the caliber of Jackson, one week before training camp. Centers who put up decent numbers are hard to find, especially in late Septmber. I'd gladly take Jackson over Booth and Eschmeyer, and any other perrenial loser C's who cashed in back in August. So, I ask again, if you were CD, who you have acquired with the exception, and how would you have done it? Now that the shoe is on the other foot, I hope this shuts up the Jackson bashing.
MJ is better than Shaq! Err, at free throwing shooting atleast. He shot 80% last year which is pretty impressive for a big man. I agree, Jackson was a good sign.
I would have done exactly what the Rockets did. Scored on a better than average big man at a desirable price.
