What's so good about him? He is only good for AI. He doesn't make his teammates better. Same thing goes for Carmelo Anthony. That is why they won't get out of the 1st round of the playoffs.

yeah, a 6'0" guard 165 soaking wet winning mvp taking his team to the finals only makes himself good.

    pga,

have you notice all the HATERS are new members? you don't see people pre-2003 dropping dumb and pointless crap.

Clutch should break the BBS into 2 parts, one for us TRUE FANS and one for the HATERS

the Haters can post all their hate in the HATE side, and we can have intelligent CLUTCHCITY.NET conversations.

I think the Nuggets need Iverson to take control rather than Anthony if they want to succeed. If they want to contend they may have to wager their future (Anthony) for a better suited player such as Bryant. They would never pull the trigger though. And even if they did, its still the West...

Man, AI is awesome, and was awesome last night. It's amazing that a guy his size can take the pounding he does, and yet come back night after night for more of the same.

    thanks pippendagimp,
its true, everyone notices this. The worst part is not that a bunch of people who haven't seen players back in the day play, its about current players!

Iverson just played the other night, and people who didn't even watch the game are commenting on it. When did Iverson ever suck? The NBA finals team he took the Sixers to went against the Shaq/Kobe machine in their prime. He was pretty much a little Hakeem that year. That team had Mutumbo, Aaron McKie, and Eric Snow.. Not exactly the best offensive team.

And they were pretty competitive. The Sixers lost one game purely because someone left Robert Horry open again in the 4th quarter. Remove I-am-Legend with Glen Rice clanging the rock, then who knows how far that series would have gone.

What the hell does status have to do with this. It's more of an age thing, younger posters tend to be more ignorant. Cry me a river.

what does this have to do with young posters? Iverson played the other night, if they couldn't figure out Iverson was good for the Nuggets then they couldn't figure out that air is good for mammals.

"...all the haters are new members."

Most of the new members are young. They are overdramatic when it comes to winning/losing games. They pick someone to blame/hate when we lose, and turn around and say we will win 55 after a win.

AI had Devin Harris and Jet Terry throwing their hands in the air ready to give up. One time they were running parallel to each other and AI crossed into Harris' path, fell down and got a foul call. It was vintage AI. Harris was ready to quit. After that, it seemed like the Mavs didn't even try to stop him until their final push with about 7 minutes left in the game. I thought it was strange that AJ gave up and pulled Dirk and Josh Howard with over 4 minutes left down by only 13.

What amazed me about the game was the effort after losing to the Lakers the night before. You'd think AI would have been disgusted such a strong effort was wasted. Instead, he turned in another amazing performance and got some help. At 32 years old, he follows up a 48 minute, 51 point game with 43 strong minutes. What a guy with a lot of heart.

AI had some problems in Philly but he's cared only about winning since joining the Nuggets. If anything, Melo is the one with the attitude problem, but he ain't going anywhere. Sometimes I wonder if Melo will ever grow up.

Absolutely, 100% correct. AI is nothing BUT heart. What REALLY gets me irked is that there are people (in my office especially) who don't watch basketball because "it's just a bunch of me-first, wanna-be thugs setting bad examples for little kids because they came into some money" and then cite Allen Iverson as the prime example for that argument. These people have no clue what they are talking about; they base everything they say solely on his appearance. If they showed HALF as much heart and passion as AI at their jobs, there would never be layoffs or scandals.

Oh, and Tinman....I'm with you on the whole "new posters" thing. There has been a definite change in the boards lately, and I attribute it only to the new posters. I don't know if it's because they are young and ignorant or what, but I have never seen a group of people as bipolar on a nightly basis as this board. It's easy to say that it's simply because there are more kids on here now, but that can't just be it. I remember when I was a kid. The Rockets were my life back then as well, and I never had this "jump off a cliff" mentality the posters today do after a few losses. It's downright annoying, in my opinion.
