This board is one of a kind . Most of us reasonably predicted the Rockets would win this series in 6 games and its shaping up to be that way yet everyone is freaking out. I understand the concern but I have confidence that our boys will come out Thursday night and deliver in front of our home crowd and advance.
Some people don't understand what a 7 game series is. its the first team who wins 4 games. it could either take 4 games 5 games 6 games or 7 games. I could careless if we win in 4 or if we win in 7. its about winning the SERIES.
Same here! And although I felt sick after the game lastnight, I'm pumped now bc I get to watch them close these b****es out in person!
When your team has a history of getting an advantage in a Play-off series then blowing it, people have every right to think the worst. Hopefully though, they get over that feeling and become positive before teh start of teh next game. It is natural for fans to feel angry and upset after a loss, when they have built up the hope we will win.
Great thread. In case no one has noticed, the Rockets are still up 3-2 in this series. They have a chance to finish Portland off at home on Thursday. I'll be there, cheering with everything I have in me.
Rockets are actually a pretty good team.. they just have mental lapses where they shy away from their offensive plan.. namely brooks and artest. boy it'd be lovely to have tmac right now.. and yes, it pains me to say that.
I wonder if the people who said we would win in 6 realized that we had to lose 2 games to accomplish that.
EXACTLY!!!!!! That is a game where they will be pressured to win at home. I'm sure the Rockets do not want to go back to Portland to play a game 7. If they can't get it done on their on home court then its going to be hard 2 do it on another teams court.
Similar things went wrong in game 5 that went wrong in the last game of the season against the Mavs. In both instances they shot themselves in the foot by guard play and being impatient on offense. The media and a few Rockets fans were down on the Rockets after that Mavs loss and picked them to lose the series against Portland. I thought the Mavs loss would serve them as video material to fix some problems and it did. After reverting back to old habits in last night's game I think this loss will have the same effect again. So I am not worried. It is a 7 game series and I truly believe we will see a better game from everyone wearing Rockets Red because Rick Adelman will work his magic to make them understand what needs to be done. Our Rockets will execute better on Thursday and I will be right there to help them out with my voice.
It is annoying but then again it is hilarious. Its funny to come here after a loss because it takes the pain away when you read peoples post saying crazy things. "We would have won if such and such player was playing" This guy sucks blah blah blah. Its all funny.
Sure, AB is still AB. He will not change next game and Adelman has no intention to let him change. The management team is satisfied with outcome so far. Past the first round or not makes no difference. A fact known to everyone when Rafer was traded. This series is to accumulate the experience for AB, the the future of Rocket. The more shots AB attempts, the happier the coach and the management are.
Did most people really think we could have won this series in 5 before game 5 had started? I mean, stop and think for a second. The pressure isn't on us, I hate how people say that if it goes to game 7, we're done. No.. We aren't done. That's pretty pathetic, the pressure is still on them to win a game to keep their season alive, while we only need 1 win to advance. I am so confident in this Rockets team that they will close it out in 6. There shouldn't be an if's about it. What if we lose game 6? Who cares? Don't think that way, just think what if we win game 6, how will I celebrate. God, I swear, there are more pessimistic people on this board than there are optimistic.
I forgot the statistic, but we were 0 for something in game 4's and by winning game 4 we broke that... so now its time to win game six and break this streak of 1st round exits!!!
