Is it 25 times a day or 25 times total...I'd imagine if you did it at the game, it wouldn't matter...
T_J, there were 9 OFs on the NL All-Star team last year, 8 in 2002, 9 in 2001. If he continues playing at something reasonably close to this level, there's no way that Biggio won't make the team, especially with the game in Houston.
Biggio leads the Astros in AVG .339 Hits 42 2B 11 TB 74 HR 7 SLG .588 how can the leading hitter on the best team in the NL not make the team? seriously, he is tied with Bonds, Griffey, and Dunn (for 17th in NL) in RBI, this all from our leadoff guy!
man...we gotta get this guy out of the lineup. he's killing us out there!!! (no..i'm not gonna stop anytime soon!)
Cool...but watch yourselves, it sneaks in the "send me tons of email" option when you go to vote again.
I think Biggio should be in, but Berkman has been dominating lately. Which 2 NL players have an on base percentage over .500? Bonds and BERKMAN.
We better have atleast 5 Astros on the team. Besides, I want home court come crunch time. Go Astros!!
well, we've got 2 allstar starters as it stands now http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1813907 NEW YORK -- Texas second baseman Alfonso Soriano was the surprise leader in the first voting totals for next month's All-Star game. Soriano, a two-time All-Star traded to the Rangers by the New York Yankees in February for AL MVP Alex Rodriguez, has 729,949 votes, the commissioner's office said Tuesday. Rodriguez, a seven-time All-Star shortstop who changed positions as a result to the trade, led AL third baseman at 558,880. Boston's Nomar Garciaparra led AL shortstops at 412,742, even though he has been sidelined all season by an Achilles' tendon injury. San Francisco Giants outfielder Barry Bonds had the second-highest vote total at 647,183. The Mets' Mike Piazza, a 10-time All-Star, led NL catchers at 500,446 even though he is playing first base more often in recent weeks. Also leading their positions in the AL are Detroit catcher Ivan Rodriguez (516,332), Yankees first baseman Jason Giambi (376,307), Boston outfielders Manny Ramirez (626,272) and Johnny Damon (360,755) and Anaheim outfielder Vladimir Guerrero. In the NL, other position leaders include St. Louis first baseman Albert Pujols (449,708) and third baseman Scott Rolen (461,194), Houston second baseman Jeff Kent (500,876) and shortstop Adam Everett (302,310), Chicago Cubs outfielder Sammy Sosa (586,479) and Cincinnati outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. The All-Star game is scheduled for July 13 in Houston.
Even better than that is that Astros are in the top 4 of each position: Ensberg at number 3?!?!! Wow. Well keep it up; Ausmus deserves at least one All-Star game!
Eh...just wait until Japan's ballots come in, Matsui will lead Everett. Everett is having an awesome year though, he definitely deserves to start in the AS game.
The highly knowledgable fans of MLB have selected as the American league shortstops: a guy who hasn't played at all, followed by a guy who just recently cracked the Mendoza line. Though I will admit to voting for Jeter.
