So, here I am in the UK for one more day, in the same clothes for the last 48 hours and still no bag. Apparently, my bag got to Manchester about 7 hours before I did, and American Airlines never passed it over to British Airways, so when I landed, no bag. And neither airline is all that helpful......etc..... I am only here for another day then off to Amsterdam, hopefully with my clothes etc. I am not sure how much longer these undies and socks can go..... DD
That is so annoying. It happened to me when I got back from Kyrgyz republic, they left my luggage in Moscow. Luckily they returned it to me the next day. Hopefully they will find it soon.
After my luggage was delayed for 24+ hours in Korea, Northwest Airlines gave me $75. In the meantime, I found a store and bought some underwear and socks and a t-shirt. Also, the majority of the time I carry a change of underwear, socks and a shirt in my carry-on bag.
I know that going head first into second base is full of win. Especially if it's your cousin. Like Pete Rose. Sorry, carry on.
You can buy an outfit until they find your luggage DD...but I do understand your frustration. Swoly wants to send you this...
Allegedly they have found it and are sending it by courrier to our office....we shall see.... My co workers are hopeful....but I am leaving the UK tomorrow to Amsterdam then to Germany, so it is today or never. DD
If they cannot send it to you they can send it to my house and you can pick it up when you go from Amsterdam to Germany (are you going by plain or car?). I do not know if that is easy, but if you have no other option.
oh that sucks... last time I went to Europe it was on the way back that they lost my luggage... so less of a big deal. But I also had a couple changes of clothes, my toothpaste and such in my carry on bag... a travel's must!
sucks dude my ma just came back from lebanon last tuesday 8/4 and still no luggage ... stay thirsty my friend.
For business trips, I always take at least 3 days worth of clothes with me as a carryon. I can actually pack 5 days worth of clothes in a 22 inch carryon now. Dress pants and shirts don't take up any space.
The bag has arrived.....I will not have to get a new wardrob....WOOOHOO !! BTW - AA lied their butts off while British Air was extremely helpful....I may be switching my allegiance. DD
DD, you should really consider this - Since you travel so much for work (and if you are an American Express cardholder), I'd really recommend getting the baggage delay protection offered by Amex. It's only $9.95 per trip (not per flight), meaning it covers all flights from the time you depart your home city until you arrive back in your home city. I got it before my trip last month to Egypt and Israel, since I had a bunch of layovers and figured my bag would get lost...and it did...also in London. Anyways, Amex ended up crediting $500 to my Amex account (as long as your baggage is delayed by 3 or more hours).
My moms luggage has been lost a few times. Once someone took it by accident thinking it was their bag, so her luggage ended up going with some lady to Israel. It was all good that time though because she did get it back a couple of weeks letter with an apology and some chocolate from Israel that was delicious. Another time the airline never found the luggage and they had to cut her a check to reimburse her for the lost items. That was far more annoying to her. In the future DD, I would go ahead and buy a couple of new outfits when your bag is lost just so you don't have to wear the same clothes multiple days.
