I just wanted to say what's up. I expected things to be slow over here but you guys at Clutch City never stop. [IMG]

Anyways, I wanted to say hi cuz I am sooo beat down by the Mavs board. The rucus b/w Mavs and Rockets fans was nothing compared to what we've been through the last few weeks. We had constant fighting and bickering for all 2 weeks of the Jazz series. Smack talk about the Jazz and Malone being dirty floppers and the Mavs being whiners. Now, after the Howard incident, several spurs fans spammed the board and the rest of them just won't shut up, saying the same damn things over and over and over again. It so annoying. Anyways, thanks to HOOP-T for coming over and helping to shut up the Jazz fans. I must say your board is better than anyone else's, including the Mavs.

First off, you're not really a member until someone says this to you, "Wrong Forum". Don't take it personal, it's a rite of passage.

Secondly, some of the better posters have taken a summer hiatus, luckily, the riff-raff homers like me are still around. But the posting population at this site is so large that even if a large portion of the population isn't around, there are still plenty of people around to post.

    Thirdly, welcome back.

I figured I'd get a "Wrong Forum". I thought about putting it in the Hangout, but my post does talk about the Mavs, Spurs, and Jazz. Even if it isn't really talking about their strategy and game plan. [IMG] Besides I think I got a "Wrong Forum" earlier in the year. But thanks for letting me know I'm still a rookie. [IMG]

Hey DD, I saw a white Acura (?) in a parking lot with Mavericks stuff written all over the windows in shoe polish. The odds aren't very high, but I thought maybe it was you since the car had Dirk Nowitzski stuff written on it.

As I was leaving the parking lot, the car pulled up next to me. Just to mess around I lowered the window and yelled "Love that Wang! Go Mavs!" and the passenger just stared at me like I was freak [IMG]

Can you believe how crazy the Spurs fans were? It was like they won the championship or something. I kept waving to all the cars passing by who honked thinking I was a Spurs fan...hahaha if they only knew my hatred for the silver and black [IMG] j/k

BTW, I love those orange shirts that say "Payback Tour 2001" with the new Mavs logo. Saturday night made me realize how much I love the NBA.

I don't think Howard deliberately tried to hurt DA. Neither did Popovich when interviewed.

In the few times I've gone to the AlamoDome to watch a Rockets vs. Spurs game, I have never been able to engage a Spurs fan in an intelligent conversation about basketball. It has recently dawned on me that (like most posters here), I am a basketball fan who just happens to love the Rockets as a team and an organization. Spurs fans are Spurs fans and the team just happens to play basketball.

Nothing surprising in some of their fans going on an internet tirade!

The question is, how many Spurs fans are just bandwagoners?

The good thing about having a young exciting team thats poised to explode onto the scene is that you know that just about everyone else cheering with you for that team is a true fan and not just a bandwagon jumper.

Of course, when the team does explode onto the scene you have a problem, but you will know who the serious fans are.

Smokey, no that wasn't me. I wasn't even around for the end of game "festivities". On eof my friends was sick and the other was embarrassed by the blowout so they forced me to leave early so that we could get out of there AND miss the traffic. When we left we got razzed so bad by the Spurs fans. Nearly everyone in our section was yelling at us and dissing us for leaving, as my friend sitting next to says, "like dogs with our tails between our legs". Then when we got into the corridor a drunk Spurs fan yelled at us about sweeping us and how he was bringing his broom to Game 2.

Anyways, me and my friends were wearing homemade shirts that said "GO" "MAVS" "GO". So if 3 guys with those shirts, I was the 6'8" dude wearing the "MAVS" shirt in the middle.

Those orange shirts sound cool. Where can you get them?

About Spurs fans, I think the main reason that the Spurs fans "are what they are" is because they are the only team in town. The Spurs are the only team to root for on a local basis so everyone has to be a fan or be completely out of the loop. Since everyone is a fan, it is easy to just go along with the hip thing to do and be a homer. The only thing fans know is Tim Duncan Tim Duncan Tim Duncan. As I go to school in San Antonio, it is amazing how much they back the team. You can't go anywhere without seeing a million "Go Spurs Go" signs, and it's really getting on my nerves. My school even hung a huge banner on the side of one of the buildings that faces the highway. I was like, "What? Since when did Trinity become a Spurs fan?"

I don't know where you can get the shirts. Probably only in Dallas. I sat next to a Mavs fan wearing that shirt. It was cool trip to make with finals coming up this week [IMG]

BTW, Hoop-T, that was BRILLIANT work you did on that board...didn't voice my appreciation there, so I'll do it here (I hope you ARE spending more time here, aren't you? [IMG])

DD--didn't you love it how after they flooded your board after game 2, and then you guys come back and beat them, they're complaining that you guys are on their board? Ahhh, the constant contradictions of a Jazz fan...I love it. [IMG]

slrocket- It was awesome. They all came on talking off a sweep and what not. Then we beat them in the Game 3. Then they said that the Jazz were just playing around and that they would win the Game 4. then we beat them again. They said, "That's ok, we're going to Utah now and there's NO WAY that the Mavs can win a game 5 at the Delta Center." I kept telling them to watch out but they wouldn't listen. [IMG] Hehehe.

    DD,
Thanks for the props. As I stated somewhere amongst the mess on the Mavs board, my Jazz hatred runs deep (not as deep as my love for the Rockets, mind you).

    SLC,
    Thanks....
Not sure why, but I got all JAZZED up with the moronic remarks of some of the Jazz fans over there. So I had to make them see the light a little. It was fun though, and I have to thank the Mavs for taking the Jazz out.

    Hey Deutschman,

Try this link. I didn't see any orange shirts, but the new logo is really cool.

Look under T-shirts for "Payback in any Language". It's not orange, but it'd be most appropriate for the next game. [IMG]

OMG, that is an unbelievable incomprehensible (woah, breakin out the big words). What the **** is he talkin about? You should have put that quote on mavtalk when we had the discusion on Malone's intelligence and speaking ability. For those of you wondering, yes those were the stupid types of discussions that we had to endure when the Jazz fans came on.

I got into it with some Spur jerk who called Rockets fans who watch games in San Antonio as morons.

Honestly, I have no problems with any of the remaining teams winning the title. I don't want Sacramento to win for obvious reasons. I also don't want the Spurs to win...bandwagoners don't need another ring.

I changed my sig. again, now that the Jazz are out. But I have the 1992 USA Basketball video, and he said it on that video. If you want it let me know......the price of the video was worth just having that single quote!!!

OMG, those Spurs fans are r****ded. I used to like the Spurs more than the Rockets, but the Spurs fans have managed to drop themselves way down these last couple of days. Here is an excellent example of their intelligent, inciteful basketball knowledge.
