Not that it sounds like a difference but I dated a 17 yr old when I was 21 She was so childish and sneaky just like any young girl, at first it seemed it would work she seemed so mature but further in the relationship you see other things that show how much more they need to grow. I could go on but thats enough for now, personally I wouldn't recommend it BUT you have to pave your own path to which I say go for it.. just don't get carried away because in the end you will probably be very frustrated.. but turn the other cheeck;there just may be a chance it works out.
I know you're only 25, but an 18 yr. old does seem young. I remember when I was 20 I refused to date a girl seriously because she was 17. However, as most have said, age tends to be less important as you get older. For example, I've gone out with a girl as young as 23 this year and a woman as old as 44. To me, it depends on confidence and how you carry yourself. But I'd steer clear of the ones who may still get carded at movie theatres.
The difference between myself and Mrs. rimrocker is 22 months and I have been happy with that from the day we started dating and the 15 years we've been married. Let's face it... you can only do the deed so much and then you have to do stuff like talk and raise kids. I don't want to spend the rest of the time explaining the 70's to some youngster. For instance, if I had to sit down and educate my young mate as to why the original Patti La Belle version of "Lady Marmalade" is vastly superior to the screeching butcher's job those "pop stars" did on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, I'd just as soon hole up in an apartment with a high speed internet connection and swear off real women altogether. I'm happy with women near my own age, thanks. Though if I had to choose, I'd go older rather than younger. That said, my best friend from HS has lived with a woman for the last 22 years who is 20 years his senior and they are extraordinarily happy and no doubt are true soul mates. Of all the people I grew up with, he's probably the most comfortable with the life decisions he's made and that relationship is a big part of it.
Typically, an 18 year old guy is going to be very immature when paired with a 25 year old woman. But there are exceptions to every rule. Take some time to get to know him, and see where it goes. He could be the exception. Or he could be like I was when I was 18.....
Does Mrs. Basso know about your thing with Kasey Chambers? Lady_Di, When a woman goes out with a younger man (usually by 7 years or more), she is known as a cougar. Cougar relationships are becoming more and more acceptable compared to like 10 to 20 years ago. I had one boss that was seeing a guy who was SIXTEEN years younger than her - it ended her marriage but they are not together anymore. I have dated some women older than me, but the oldest was like 3 years older and one was only a year older than me. Now my wife is 4 years younger than me. I really don't think it matters what the age difference is as long as there's a definite compatibility between the two.

This is going to sound dumb, but my age limits from the time I turned 26 was 7-11. The guy can be 7 years younger or 11 years older. I figure that's an 18 year age pool I can live with.
Met my wife a month after she turned 19 when I was 25. Been together for almost 6 years now and married for the last 1.5. Age is just a number but normally only when the guy is the older one. Females tend to mature faster than guys so a girl going out with an 18 year old guy has a much more uphill challenge than the other way around.
R Kelly doesn't mind. the name of this thread should be "young man hits jackpot" seriously, its like when denise on the cosby show was 18 and she brought robin givens home, and theo was all in love. theo says "she's only two years older" and denise is like "yeah, but that's like in dog years"
I've dated girls as young as 17, and women as old as mmmm...fo.............r.......tea.....fo......hur. I've pretty much dated everybody, in wide range of ages, ethnic backgrounds, religions, mental state, emos, radicals, you name it. I have to take long breaks after I usually date, financial reasons, health reasons, and security reasons.
what? hayesfan is a chick? but i see her in the chatroom everytime I'm there, what girl is in a bball chatroom all the time??
Why am I not surprised that hotballa is finally realizing that HayesFan is a female - it's another crying game, um finalsbound moment for him!
I think if you're a chick, you should have a fruity name like Lady_Di or Shady Pink XXX you should NOT be allowed to have a man's name in your SN.
well i'm with you just cause I didn't know either.. just made an assumption that someone who obsesses over Chuck Hayes would be a dude with a mancrush. Didn't think he'd be the kind for a girl to be all over
