On a more serious note....even if you have savings, it's going to be costly to move over here, find a place, furnish it, get transportation and do many other necessary things. If you can do all of that and still have money to survive and feed your family for about 6 months, then yeah, I would say make the move. You want us to help you decide if a childhood friend of yours is reliable or not? Doesn't make sense. You're the one who knows him and can better evaluate what his deal is. Plus, you say "you believe him", so something tells me whatever we say won't matter. If you believe him now, despite him being a liar, then you'll believe him after this thread is over with also.
