Taking into account how big of a self-conscious p***y my friends are is always a strong factor in my major life decisions too. Sorry to single out your post, I just thought that was a head-scratcher of a reason. Actually, I won't single just you out. Juicystream's reasons (he likes the way it looks and it is easier for him to clean until his son is old enough) also seemed weird support for chopping off a piece of penis.
It is just skin. I had a lump removed over my eye when I was one for purely cosmetic reasons. I'm glad my parents did it then, rather then wait until I was old enough to decide for myself. I also appreciate my circumcision.
Luke 2:21-24, 39-40 After eight days had passed, it was time to circumcise the child; and he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
But one (removing a lump over your eye) was to make your eye look natural--look the way the other symmetrical eye looked. And look similar (at least more similar) to 95% of the population or whatever (in comparison to with the lump) Pre-op on the foreskin, it looked like 95% of humans look naturally when born. So you're altering a natural appearance to make it look unnatural. It'd be more akin to having a nosejob when an infant on a nose that looks and functions relatively normally. (Obviously I don't know the %ages--just guessing.)
I tell you what, I'd miss both of them a whole lot. Lucky for me they were just removing something cosmetic from both.
But it is still cosmetic, which is largely the argument being brought against it in here. It is a choice, and by the looks of the poll, one that isn't a huge deal.
COSMETIC? WTF, man...? Where are the beauty contests, then? I have beautiful FORESKIN. Now I gotta go PP again. Thanks again.
How does it not make sense? You said most medical procedures could be considered barbaric. I don't think there is anything barbaric about a person deciding to have a medical procedure done for cosmetic reasons, or parents having a necessary procedure performed on their children who are too young to make the decision. But I think it could reasonably be considered barbaric for parents to put their babies through cosmetic procedures, particularly one that involves genital mutilation.
I'm cut but my son isn't. The wife and me felt that it was really unnecessary when we got to thinking about it and didn't really want to do that to him. When he gets older and he wants that done, then that is his choice. However, he will be told that whoever he winds up with should love him for the person he is and not because he doesn't have any foreskin on his dick. If she doesn't want to be with him due to that, then he doesn't need someone like that anyway. At least that is how I look at it.

The first girl is far more informative. She prefers it because its quicker. I should let her know that there is no lubricant needed for mine either, but who the heck wants a hand job? The second girl makes her decision based on one person, which is never a good idea.
