I think the post was meant to support the claim that circumcision actually has health benefits/refute Ronny + others.

    ...waiting for Ronny's reply

I would not have it done as adult.

My son is not circumcised. I will pay for the operation if he wants it done as an adult.

IIRC the current origins of why circumcision is prevalent now is because ... get this ... 15th century bishops though it would cut down on masterbation ... FTW.

These studies are like a bitter old mother-in-law looking for flaws, if you keep looking for something, you'll find it.

Now hold on a second, no one said anything about "medically necessary." We were talking about health benefits. If we were discussing "medically necessary", this would be a NIH issue.

DIRECTLY from one of the links you posted:

    Health benefit -> Yes

Medically Necessary -> Of course not

    http://www.articlesbase.com/mens-health-articles/5-myths-about-circumcision-1992456.html (Unbiased site)

So what exactly is this substantial evidence? How many more modifications should we make to our body in the hopes of future health benefits... should all big nosed girls be given complimentary rhinoplasty's at age 12 to improve their mental health and self esteem?

Like I mentioned, I'm cut and like it for ease of use and aesthetic purposes. But I don't delude myself into thinking I'm healthier than those with uncut penises, which is exactly how a lot of you justify it.

If you live in Swaziland, then sure, it could be beneficial.

In the Western world, not so much.

Ronny's right - there is absolutely no proof of a health benefit.

I don't get the whole 'it's ugly or gross' thing. If your pants are off, you're going to be doing the deed, and a turtleneck probably isn't going to stop things.

You know there is a small risk his crank will be destroyed right? Infection, slip of the knife, malfunction of the electronic suture. After that, your a girl. which i guess would be good for you since your sister won't be taking it up the butt anymore.

i agree...i wouldnt want it done as an adult either, because, it's a much bigger deal (no pun intended) to have it done as an adult. I dont want to imagine how much discomfort it is having it done as a grown man.

For those that say its barbaric...i think thats a bit overly dramatic. Most medical procedures could be considered barbaric.

Actually, if I had a wife and she said she was fine with my small penis (not that I have one  ), I would feel 10x better about it because shes the one that has to deal with it the most. Most people are self conscience because of what other people think about it. You think if there was no negative stigma about small penis or if society doesn't make a big issue about size, guys would still be insecure about being small? I don't think so at all. Every guy in the world would be steaming with confidence if that was the case.

I hear you. My father wasn't, yet the culture of the time proclaimed that it was the "right thing to do," and not doing it was "gross," so I'm missing some of my body. My son is intact, however, and like you, if he ever wanted it done, we'd pay for it, but that's something I can't imagine happening. For those babbling about 3rd World nations and this topic, just go to Europe. Excepting those who do it for religious reasons, which I fully understand (even if I don't agree), an overwhelming number of males in Europe are intact. I think it is 90%+, although that figure is from memory, so forgive me if I'm off a little, one way or another. The chicks there have no problem with it. I've been there several times, including when I was single, and remember talking about it. No one can accuse me of being shy!

Most medical procedures aren't performed on babies for purely cosmetic reasons.

I had mine surgically extended with the flesh of a pig's ear. Now I've got six inches of pig/foreskin hanging.

I've got a frigging water noodle in my shorts.

Yes. I also had my son ( six months old now) circumcised. One of the reasons being my friend isn't, he says he's totally self conscience about it and wished his parents had it done for him.
