Workin on a project for my cousin's wedding.

How do add one of those subtitles, or name tag things, like on the bottom of this screen?

Of course, not exactly like that, but you get my drift. Just something where I can flash the name of the person on the video.

Make a title in Photoshop with a green background, put it in a video track other than 1 at the place where you want it over the video, go into transparency, make the green transparent. The title should stay (as long as it wasn't green, too) and overlay over the video.

Right click on the clip you want to make transparent, go up the menu to Video Options, and then to transparency.

The video has to be in a track other than 1A or 1B for the transparency option to show up in the menu.

Once there, go to "Green Screen" in the pull down menu. Then at the bottom, go to 100 threshold and on the right where it says "smoothing", go to high. Then click okay.

Then you have to build a preview and watch it to see how it looks.

Now I'm in the transparency screen......In the preview box, the green background is gone, but it still won't overlay. It's liked nothing has changed. WTF?

Hit return and it will start building a preview. After it's done (after a minute or two of rendering), it should play with the transparency done right.

I don't know then. I just know it works for me.

Is the clip you want underneath the subtitle thingy in the 1A track at the same point in the timeline as the subtitle?

Ok some progress.....I selected the third option under to sample window (the folding corner of the page icon) in the transparency screen. The sample shows exactly how I want it, but it doesn't do it when I go back to the project.

Go to timeline and select preview, it should work after that.
