Sorry for the alliteration. It was unintended. I don't need a $300 program to create simple pdf documents (mostly text). Have you had good experiences with any other pdf creation programs? Any bad experiences, like files being way larger than what they ought to be?
I've been dealing with this stuff at work lately, here's what I found using a 110 page Word document with a lot of images as the source. Distiller - 1.4 MB Ghostscript - 8 MB OpenOffice.org - 5 MB (Also had trouble reading the word doc and left pages out) Obviosly Distiller did the best, but from what I understand Ghostscript often can get similar sizes for documents that are mainly text. You can get Ghostscript here and OpenOffice.org here I'll be doing more research on it today so I'll let you know if I find anything else.
