While Rudy maybe too loose .. JVG maybe too ridged

It seems JVG has a preconceived notion of what every position should do
If a player cannot do that things. . he seems to simply keep pushing
that player to do them . . .

    Swift is the main victim

I think JVG wants a PF that can shoot . .post up . . etc
SWIFT simply cannot do these things

True .. JVG should not *HAVE* to adjust
Swift should have these skills. . but we don't live in SHOULD
and I am getting the feeling Swift will be with us for a while. :(

We need to find a way to utilize everyone's strength and minimize their weaknesses

It seems like Swift, YAo etc are being asked to play something different
than their strengths . . .I like that they learn new things
but in crunch time. . . everyone has a sweet spot .. .
and we need to get everyone to their comfort zone/ spot/ game

I think posing up is what Swift does pretty well actually. He can post up, but our guards dont get him the ball enough. When he gets the ball in the post, and pivots to face the basket....thats what he is best at. NOT "backing it down" like Yao, but instead going more one-on-one. He needs to get good position, catch and face, then go to the rack.

I also think it would be interesting to see SWIFT post-up, while YAO waits on the back-side. When Swift faces and goes to the bucket, Yao's man will help leaving him open, and from what I have seen Stro seems to be a pretty decent interior passer. This way, Stro is doing what he does best, and Yao will ge easy buckets + he can knock down the baseline J better then Stro.

Mr. Van Gundy would make an awful Klingon. He has no honor.

    ("ridged" != "rigid")

Would we be even having this conversation about JVG if we had a SG who could actually make a basket consistently night after night? I personally don't think so...

Of all the guys we gave up for T-Mac I think this team misses Mobley the most, he was a descent outside shooter and could also take it to the basket when he wanted to.

Yeah, we need a capitalist's approach instead of a communist's one. That's it.
