    It was really suprisingly easy to trade the sugared sodas for diet.
    I lost about 30 pounds since I did it. They tell me the Phenylelanine will kill you, but who gives a ****, i'm getting skinny as a rail.

    Pepsi and Coke are coming out with hybrid colas with half the calories and half the carbs of their original drinks. Pepsi Edge and C2. i can't stand the aftertaste of diet drinks now so hopefully these will be better.

    I used to drink tons of Dr. Pepper. If it wasn't around, then Coke or whatever. I quit when I was twenty or so and never missed it. I try one again maybe once a year and it's too sweet for me to even finish. Quit cold turkey and a year later it'll taste nasty.

    What is so awful about sodas and why does everybody feel they have to give them up? Most people do a lot worse things to themselves, regardless. I did switch to diet drinks a long time ago, and can't stand regular ones now. So surely it's not doing anything to me. (Phenylalanine is metabolized to two amino acids - nothing your body isn't used to, and the amounts aren't that high because it doesn't take much of it to sweeten something. If it does anything to you, scientists have never figured out what or how.)

    Of course, there may yet be some effect we don't know about, but.... oh well. I drink several Diet Cokes a day. I'm not ashamed. I feel weird when I can't get any. It's been running through my veins for most of my life. :D

    I used to down like a 6 pack of DP every day, then when Vanilla Coke came out, I went to around 3 DPs and 3 VCs a day...
    but then I switched to one diet Vanilla Coke a day when I went on Atkins...and never looked back...I actually tried to drink a normal one a while back...took one sip and couldn't drink any more....too sweet..

    and then I discovered diet Code Red...;)

    so...now I drink like 2 dVCs and a dCodeRed a day..and its all good.

    the rest of the day its lemonade(strawberry lemonade is great), water and a glass of tea or so.

    I gotta have my caffeine and I dont drink coffee...so I can never quit drinking sodas or Ill die of lack of caffeine .

    I don’t drink or smoke, ain’t into dope. Won’t try no coke, you ask me how I do it, I cope. My only addiction has to do with the female species. I eat ‘em raw like sushi.

    For me its not that i think they are bad, i just wanna see if i can get myself to quit drinking them.

    How did you get yourself to quit though? Did you have to stop seeing coke and other pop in your site? Or did you just see those and be like screw it i dont need that and would grab a water or what not? I too have noticed already by drinking diet stuff, the regular stuff is too sweet for me too, especially regular sprite, stuff tastes like crap to me now.

    I have started drinking a lot of Mixed Fruit juice.
