So anyway, in one of my class at the prestigious University of Texas at Arlington, I am required to put together an advertising campaign for a local car dealership (actually, they have several dealerships under the company umbrella).

So, I put together a print ad and direct mail piece, and I thought I'd take the opportunity to get some feedback from the wonderful people of the ClutchCity.net world.

    So, here it is:

    Print Ad

    Direct Mail piece front

    Direct Mail piece back

You'll have to imagine the direct mail piece folded (it's a tri-fold. The interior is correct, but the exterior would fold, so the picture on the right would be the front of the piece. You'd open it to see the flap on the left. And then open that to see the inside. The middle panel of the back would be the address label area on the back of the piece.... If that makes any sense at all).

Ryan you have a way with advertising....yay!

I just don't know if the rest of the world is ready for it....boo!

I mean I would buy a car from that dealership after reading that add but I just don't know if my dad would, and he has a lot more money than me.

And I don't know if your prof is going to give you a bonus for tasteful humor.

Perhaps if you focused the campaign on the gen Xer's somehow, and explained that intention to your prof. And then had something without the phrase "want to screw you" in a different add aimed at the old wise ones.

Or you could use those adds for Paigetopia and just make them for Mr. Davis or whoever's dealership that was. You could have Davis dancing in his living room instead of you.

BTW, I am sorry but I had to totally revamp the script after watching Lynch's Blue Velvet for the first time three weeks ago. It gave me a new idea on how to shoot it and that meant that I had to rewrite it. I will send it to you upon completion for your intuitive review.

It appeals to the younger, poorer, crowd. You should put Matlock somewhere on there, and at least a trillion cars will be sold.

Well, I did have to write a strategy as part of the assignment, and there I made clear that I was aiming for a young target market.

As long as the advertising matches the strategy (and it does), I'll be fine.

And that's cool about the script. I wouldn't have had time to read it until the semester is over anyway.
