I don't know why JVG didn't put Cato longer in the game? he is doing fine. And he definetely can share some of defense task on Shaq.

Actually, we make sucesses in two wins against lakers when we free yao from part of shaq defense, and give him more energy in the offense. Plus, Malone is slow nowdays, yao definetely can handle him. In the last game, Yao had to defend shaq most of time without cato, it made him suffer in the offense. I believe tonight's game proved this again.

My point is very simple, we really, really need cato more on defense in this series. I didn't see him utilized enough in game 1. How do you guys think?

Remember those two lay-ups that Cato missed on the opening minutes.... ouch.

I agree we need Cato to defend Shaq more or else Yao will get in foul trouble and tire out.

Taylor is definetely valuable for our offense. And in this series, I believe Cato is much more needed than Weatherspoon.

I don't like second guessing the coaches that much, but I too thought that Cato was doing a great job on defense, and could have spared Yao a foul or so.

But we also needed SOMETHING to work on offense. Yao wasn't too effective, SPoon wasn't that effective, and even Cato was missing from up close. Maybe Padgett could have provided some offense, but he couldn't have done too much to help out with Shaq. Of all the options the one most likely to turn it around on offense would have been Yao.

And even if Cato had been the one defending Shaq, we can't guarantee that he would have boxed out to prevent the offensive rebound any more than Yao did.

The game was really close and we need to keep it up.

Still trying to figure out what he was not in for the rest
of the game after YAO went out

    or at the least Padge

IMO JVG should have played offense defense
    with CATO and PADGE

    Weatherspoon selection was weak
    and just shows his bias

    his bias cost us IMO

In the low scoring game like yesterday while our defense is more than good enough to have us win the game, offense is more needed than defense. (Taylor was on a roll in 4th quater)

Also, he may not fully recover from his injure so JVG don't want to overwork him.
