We're glad to have Aaron Brooks as our STARTING point guard, because he shoots the ball semi decent, can break down defenses, 1-2 punch with Kyle Lowry, makes mistakes but so does every other point guard, and unlike AI is a team player, and is part of OUR TEAM.
I certainly appreciate Aaron as our STARTING PG. The fact of the matter is, with the game on the line, I would much rather have Aaron at PG than Kyle Lowry.
aaron can use his speed and break down the defense alright, but he doesn't know how to best handle it after the defense is broken down. and his shooting % isn't that much better than rafer's. just saying.
We're glad to have Luther Head as our bench warmer, because he warms the bench semi decent, can protect drinks, 1-2 punch with Dorsy, get excited and stand up sometimes but so does every other warmers, and unlike Hayes is a consistent warmer, and is part of OUR BENCH. Woops, we lost him already.
A good player coming off the bench at this moment. More like a undersized fast SG than a PG. Any team with him as starting PG will have to depend on how he shoots on the particular night, instead of how to run the best possible plays for that team.
Because there is more that Aaron can do on offense. He's quick enough to get past the defender almost 90% of the team, and he is a much better shooter. That's why I want Aaron more than Lowry at crunch time.
Yes, he passes the defender almost 90% of the time. But that is not the only thing his body passes: so does his brain - 95% of the time. AB is one of the worst PGs when it comes to decision making.
You're right, my mistake. Second year players should NEVER make bad decisions. What a horrible player.
Once he passed his defender, all he does is throwing up a circus shot. BTW, Lowry is a better shooter than AB inside 3 point line, and a better finisher around basket.
I appreciate Aaron as our STARTING PG and we need him to score. I remember once Morey said our team needed more offense. Considering absence of Tmac and score ability of our intangible guy, we need somebody to pick up his points in order to balance our starting lineup. And Aaron is the guy.
Make bad decisions for a second year player is OK, but going to bench should be OK for a second year player too.
I do not think Rockets will bring us too much surprises this year. I would like to wait the year 2010, then T-Mac will be back. He is the only MAN who can carry Rockets to the west final competiton. If Rockets really wants to win the NBA champtionship, the only way is that TRADE Yao + Ron for duncan as soon as possible.
That remindes me of the good old orlando times. Be real, Duncan is going down hill now and would be gone soon.
aaron can get past his man alright. but the offense doesn't stop there. what happens after he leaves his man behind is as important. and ab is a better 3pt shooter than lowry. overall? not so much. go check their %'s yourself.
AB can be appreciated when he becomes our undersized shooting guard. When you start as PG for a NBA team, you should not have 0 assist on ANY night.
All I've seen from Lowry is drive, drive, drive, drive, drive, drive, and drive... and that is fine when your team doesn't rely on you... But when the game is on the line, and you're game = drive to the basket... what the hell do you think the defense is going to defend? That's why Tracy McGrady was such a good closer (excluding the last couple of years, because he started to rely on the jumper too much), because he could do both of them against you. That's why Kobe Bryant is such a good closer, because he can do both. Aaron, while not as good a finisher as Kyle Lowry around the basket, can certainly finish. He can get past the defender, or hit the open jumper. While he does make some bad decisions, he'll get better at that as he adjusts to the speed of the game. With Lowry, we'd have to rely on Yao or Ron.
