A team nickname?

    The 80's Lakers and Pistons had theirs... and I can't think of any other team that has or had one.

    Do we need a nickname for our now highflying Rockets?

    If we do, here is my nomination:

    "The Red Glare" --- based on the national anthem

    I'd like to include the word "Team" in the nick, because our whole success and effectiveness, on both ends of the floor, is based on our players buying into the team concept. I've said this many times, but I see this team as being a poor man's version of the Kings on offense and the Piston's on defense. The unit cohesion that is coming together on offense and defense is pretty rare in the NBA, and I think it's worth recognizing.

    Maybe "Team: Machine". That would fit perfectly. Although I will admit that "The Machine" sounds a lot better.

    Gotta ask...What have they done to deserve a nickname? Just because they are on a hot streak doesn't mean anything. It's much too early for talk to nicknames and potential WCF opponents.
