In the Dueling culture, most of the time when men met on the field of honor they simply fired their weapons in the air and then had a drink together. Thus, honor was preserved. Then you had hotheads, like the first real Democrat, Andrew Jackson, who deliberately allowed his opponent to take the first shot and then, with a bullet in his chest, made the other guy stand his ground and shot him dead. Just saying.
Instead of simply letting them off the hook, why not just demand that they stop posting crap and instead have facts-based discussions on the issues? The quality of this forum has seriously gone downhill due to the number of people posting "willful ignorance" - just regurgitating nonsense that isn't supported by the facts. Instead of kicking people out, we should want conservative posters - as long as they are willing to post some sort of substance.
