God, don't you hate people who are assholes? I just went round and round with this guy off ebay in which I had bought a Daredevil 158 (VF) for like 30 bucks. This guy claimed he would ship it by priority mail. 8 days go by and I have not received the book nor an email from him telling me that there are problems. I had to send like 3 emails in 2 days to get this character to respond to the point of telling him that he was going to get a negative on his feedback for being a nonresponsive seller. This ******* had the nerve to tell me that he didn't "know" what my confirmed PayPal address is! Correct me if I am wrong, but when people send you money, it automatically shows you on your account, their name, email address, and shipping address if it is confirmed. The guy is just a scam artist plain and simple, but I got the last laugh as I got my money back, he received his eleventh negative out of like 86 unique users, plus I have reported him to ebay. It turns out that he has pissed off other people and one of my X-men sellers told me that a buddy of his is in the process of getting this guy kicked from eBay. This whole experience has made me think long and hard about using eBay again which is a shame as I have had, for the most part, a pleasant experience using it. Call this a rant thread but what other assholes have pissed you off lately?
I sold this guy a Daredevil 158 (VF) on ebay a couple of weeks ago, have been kind of busy and haven't shipped it, and this a-hole calls me complaining all the time. I tried to tell him I didn't have his address (I really did, but I've been busy). Anyway, long story short, I think I got rid of him, but I know he'll call back. What an a-hole. I once waited two months for a set of Callaway HawkEye VFT golf clubs...two months for a $900 set of clubs. Talked with an attorney...talk about the sphincter factor! I thought I was hosed.
I got into a car accident a month ago when an elderly man ran into me. We exchanged information and when I said I wanted to call the cops, he sped off with claims of an important business meeting. I call his insurance company to make a claim, and I am told that he is giving a different story, one in which I was at fault (even though my car had a HUGE ass dent while his was fine. Hmm... I wonder who hit freakin' who?) Luckily I found a witness before I left the scene of the crime and got her information. After several weeks of arguing with the insurance company (who claimed they could never get a hold of the witness even though I pretty much could around the clock), I got the witness to call the insurance company and give her story (even though the insurance company told me this was not allowed and against their policy) 6 weeks later, and several headaches and delusions about going to this old ****ers house and slashing his tires and his throat, I finally got a check from the insurance company. As of yesterday, the car is back at home... totally fixed.
Did you think that maybe you shouldn't buy from someone who screwed 1 in 8 people before selling to you?
Well, hydra, I believe in giving people a second chance but I guess I will have to abandon that theory with eBay.
As I said in the other thread... Someone within the past three days hacked into my ebay account, changed the e-mail address to a similar name@ msn.com (I'm willing to give it out as I've already signed this ******* up for riskymail), and then decided to start selling two items that DID NOT EXIST. These two items: An Apple Powerbook and a Minolta digital camera totaling over $3000. He was attemptimg to get people to send him money and get me screwed over. He almost got away with it. Thank god someone interested in the item e-mailed me asking about this 'Powerbook'. Somehow, ebay came in handy and helped me reset the account and no harm done. I had to change the password, but I still fear it will be re-hacked into again. The representative said that a 'virus' of sorts could have been put on my account, recording keystrokes and getting my password. Oh, and this item I bought (cell phone cover) hasn't come yet. I did PayPal and haven't heard one response from the guy. This guy had a bit of negatives also. I'll wait one more day.... My views of ebay are changing.
Same stuff happened to me...I'm not sure who did it, but I tell you what they're on top of my "Who to do if I ever go Postal list". Don't worry, you're not on it.
lol, deepellum I have been told by other sellers that I have done business with that eBay is like this great big entity that doesn't have lots of human control....almost like a huge computer. Reading stories like Mr. Mooch's as well as what happened to me is proof that eBay needs to do a better job of maintaining their site from the idiots and scam artists.
It appears, however, that eBay is not interested in taking that extra effort. And really, to them, the customers are the sellers. Those are the ones who pay the fees, technically. Buyers seem to get far less consideration.
That dude's a dork. Like he's really gonna get 250,000 for each of his clients. He doesn't look nice either. <----- Jim Adler
I do a good amount of business on Ebay and I'm a very picky person when it comes to buying. If they have any negatives in the last 6 months then I think twice, and if they are below 98% I won't mess with them. I have a 102 rating, all positive. I treat people like I want to be treated when I am selling an item. Communication is the biggest part on Ebay. So far I've had one Non-paying bidder and one person rip me off when I bought something. Ebay and Paypal have very helpful tools to get your money back though. I am still a huge fan of Ebay and I'd like to have my own business one day selling on there full-time.
I've bought a lot of things on ebay. Nothing but pleasant experiences. The most expensive thing I ever bought on ebay was a Peavey XXX tube amp for $625 + shipping. The guy had like a 500 rating with 100% positive feedback so the product was just as described. Feedback rating is VERY important. Even one negative feedback is enough to turn me away as a potential customer.
I've had mostly positive experiences on Ebay. I've bought somehwere around 50 items off ebay so far, and I've had about 2 or 3 problems that I can remember. One was a $10 playstation game that never got shipped. The other was a $30 stick of RAM. That may seem like a lot, but considering I've purchased 2 computers off ebay and a couple of Playstations, I just chalk it up to bad luck. Plus, sometimes I intentionally bid from people who have lower feedback, because traditionally you can get things for cheaper from them. No one wants to bid from someone with low feedback. My main criteria is good communication. If I'm concerned at all about the sellers reliability, I write them before I bid. If the seller writes you back, you can get a fair idea of what kind of person you're dealing with. I haven't ever been scammed since I started doing that.
I'm just curious. Would you guys ever buy anything from someone like me? Assuming, of course, that you had no idea who I was. I have one negative feedback and a total rating below 98% (95.7%). Be honest. I'm just wondering if many potential bidders are being dissuaded by that one negative.
The 95.7% would scare me for sure, but once I reviewed your feedback and saw that the negative was from 18 months ago and you explained yourself then I wouldn't be to worried. You've had 22 positives versus 1 negative, I'd be OK with that. Here is my feedback.
