I see franshise had 9 turnovers. That sounds like my average if i played in the NBA Ok, maybe one quarter for me, but ..... Can anyone tell me what happened for him to turn the ball over so much. Chi had only 7 steals. I know Steve has alot of TO, 3 a game, but 9? ------------------ "Chucky who? I thought we were talking about basketball?" Charles Barkley
He didn't have his usual handles tonight, but you gotta give credit to Ron Artest. That guy is one of the best defensive players in the league. He was the one that created most of Steve's TO's. Ron has shut down other great players like McGrady, Hill, Robinson, and the list goes on. ------------------
Either Steve's handle was all broke or they did some serious game-tape-studying. Every time he tried to cross over they were either right there or he was dribbling it off his feet. Inexplicable really. ------------------ "He said hop on his back and he was goin' ta take us to the promise land...and that's what he done." -- Robert Horry '95
Amazingly, I don't remember one incident of carrying, either. Just really sloppy dribbling. ------------------ Kenny Thomas had a foul called on him in the Western Conference Finals.
Seemed like Steve got frustrated with the Lack of reaching Calls. Some of the hacks he was getting was a bit obvious but they were called as JumpBalls or just out of bounds Rocket River Refs in the 1st can cause u to have a bad Whole game ------------------
I agree it was more about dribbling than passing turnovers. He also had at least one charging foul. Colby, did you see the Portland game. Francis dribbling last night was similar to Mobley's Monday night. Just inexplicably losing the ball while dribbling nowhere. Francis is attempting to get to the middle more. His passing has stepped up a notch since he got to the middle. He is much more effective. I'll take his dribbling mistakes if he gets to the middle more like he is.
I got a little frustrated with Steve last night. He and Artest seemed to have a little battle going, and Steve was putting too much effort in trying to take Artest off the dribble, which was the cause of at least half his turnovers. Gotta give Artest credit for good defensive, though. He reminds me a lot of Duncan in that the head-and-shoulder fakes, fancy dribbling, and stutter steps have little effect with him. He maintains his discipline and waits for his man to commit to a move before acting. ------------------
I think he got caught up trying to show out for Tim Floyd for passing him up in June 99. Because he had 21pts but it was an ugly 21 pts. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
