Well, the 'kid' is only 18, but he is freaking 8 feet and 9 inches. My uncle showed me this and he's been trying to get local highschools and colleges to take a look at the kid.. at 18 he has some potential. I don't think this is for the GARM, because there is not interest from the Rockets. Thought this was kinda cool to share  .

Is this true? Wouldn't the Guiness Book of World Record list him if he was that tall? I need confirmation from another news source.

I doubt that this is true. That link doesnt even lead to a real news source.
Also, that pic is taken at such an angle that it could be depicting a 5'6 person shaking hands with a midget and it seems like he is 8 foot whatever :D

For a poor guy with three buffaloes, the kid's family sure has a sweet flat screen TV there.

Not trying to defend the guy here, I was in shock and in doubt when I saw it.

The guy next to the big fella is a sort of governing body/person in India, again this was told to me by my uncle, so it's his words against our perception. Vicky's favorite sport is soccer, and it is true that his parents are EXTREMELY poor. He came into major cities not to flaunt his height, but to look for a reasonable job, and he was surrounded by many, many people.

We Googled this after my uncle read an article from a Chicago newspaper, at first we had no results, but after going to Yahoo! India, we found him. He is attracting a lot of interest, and apparently, many companies are lining up for sponsership deals. Why he was not exposed is a good question. Like I mentioned, his family is very poor, and he hadn't really had any sort of education or exposure to any media.

Like I said, I don't wanna defend the guy, because I am still in disbelief, just thought I would pass the word along.

To clarify that, he is meeting a government official when he was coming in to look for a job.

If he is legit, I think he has real potential. Looking at the picture, he already looks like he has an NBA body - he's no stick figure like Shawn Bradley. He looks like he can pound in the paint.

Geez, from a standing position, he wouldn't even have to fully extend his arm to dunk. Imagine the blocks a guy that size he could accumulate.

If he could at least run he'd be worth a look at.

This guy actually looks well proportioned, unlike a lot of giants. But like LegendZ3 said, not all tall people can play basketball or even be athletes. For a guy that comes from a poor background, his health and conditioning will be major question marks.

"Wait until the big man brings the ball down, then GET IT FROM HIM." - Coach Courtney from TSU
"Bump the big man off, get a foul." - (again), Coach Courtney

I think everyone in the NBA would be waiting to gameday so they can posterize him... ...

He'd be called for 3 seconds in the paint NO MATTER where he would be...

"well proportioned..."??? I bet you've seen all his parts. ;)

if he takes more than 24 secs to get down the court, he can not play in NBA. :D
