    strongly disagree!

tmac is still a great player, but the orlando tmac was much better!

I agreed with you 100% until the last statement.

McGrady is not a better defensive player now than he was early in his career. He can still be a stopper when he sets his mind to it, but that only happens once or twice a game.

Even though Tmac's best days are behind him, I think his peak was his first two seasons in Houston. Charles, on the other hand, was at his peak with Phoenix and Philadelphia.
However, Charles' career is one and done. Tmac still has a few more opportunities to achieve what Charles can only dream about.

IMO, Charles was a selfish player as a Rocket.....demanding the ball in the post and taking low percentage shots against bigger defenders while Hakeem had better mismatches to exploit himself....

Charles may have been past his prime when he was here, but he was no scrub. The man pulled down 30 rebounds his 1st game. He may have had a fat a$$, but he knew how to throw it around(just like his mouth).

Don't forget Clyde Drexler retiring early because he didn't get along with Barkley. To me Clyde will always be heads and shoulders over Barkley as a player. They had comparable talent but Clyde was just about the most dedicated person there was to his game, second among many things to MJ alone. Chuck had just as much talent but he expended too much of it throwing bystanders out of barroom windows.

I still remember when he made his way to America from Cuba via a banana boat. The WWF cameras were set up on South Beach, and Razor Ramon is on a banana boat making his way to shore... That was CLASSIC tv...

    Wrestling...a man's soap opera.

t-mac has been a better overall player as a rocket then a magic, but he's been an awful defender this season. his best year was probably year one with us or possibly last season.

HAHAHAHAHA.Better player defensive player???LMAO Tmac prime years were 01-05.His back was still a problem those years, but didn't really hinder his play. These days tmac is nowhere near his ol self.He can't finish around the basket like he use to or play defense like he used to_On the magics he was a amazing ne on one defender and one year had 100blks and 100 stls.He was a beast. His first year with the roxs (04-05) He was amazing too, but they couldn't get out of the first round even tho in 05 playoffs. Then tmac was hungry for a chip the next season, but back problems made him miss alot of gms.05-06 was a waste and 06-07 he didn't get his back together until the mddle of the season when he visted that doc.He was overweight last season too. This season he loss back the weight got some explosion back and then he had a knee problem.Thats tmac career there.

I guess it is similar to human intelligence development. With aging, some abilities, such as memory may be getting worse, but other abilities, such as reasoning, problem finding and solving will be improved.

For Tmac, his current physical condition may be worse than his Orlando days, but his playmaking skill may be better than before.

Whether he is a better player now, I think it depends on whether the team needs a more physical gifted Tmac or a more playmaking Tmac.

Wat don't u get?He was a playmaker in orlando too.Just that on the rockets they were more people who made shots so his asts went up by only 1.So it's not like he started dishing out 8 a gm.The thing about tmac is that he has bad luck.He has like 2 playoff series where he was up 2-0 or 3-1.He has been injured or his teammates get injured when it looks like they have a chance. If tmac gets back into shape next year and yao stays healthy all season. He will win a chip for sure.
