Read your quotes then re-read them again. You hate Bonds because he you believe he was juicing to help him recover from injuries. But you fail to realize it wasn't the juice that separated Griffey from Bonds. A) Bonds was a workout warrior. He would train both on and off-season come in early to hit more BP then anyone on his team. Griffey was the exact opposite as soon as his skills and body diminished so did he. Even if Griffey did take juice, you think he would workout harder to recover from injuries or practice/stretch out longer to avoid injuries? The game came to him to easily so he took it for granted. You watched baseball but you didn't hear about their work ethic? B) Griffey played centerfield with no remorse, did you ever see Bonds crash into walls like JR? One of his most severe injuries came from smashing into the wall shattering his wrist. Again you did not see how these two played? C) Griffey wasn't as good as Bonds running the bases. Bonds was a very clever base runner and a good stealer. Griffey on the other hand had a severe knee injury due to running the bases. D) Bonds had a better knowledge of the game then Griffey. He knew what the pitchers were going to pitch before they through it. Bonds walked a lot because he had great plate discipline. Griffey was somewhat of a free swinger, who struck out a lot. Again you claim to watch baseball but you have no knowledge about how Griffey/Bonds played the game. It's "fans" like this who have no clue about baseball that give Bonds a bad name and claim Griffey could have gotten [800].
In the 1990s (Bonds clearly has him for career value and in the 2000's) the one clear area he had on Bonds was that he played a more valuable position. But in almost everything else, from batting average, to stolen bases, to OPS+ to walks, to triples to slugging, and especially OBP (where the difference was often ~ 50 points), Bond was clearly better. To go even further, Bill James in his 2003 historical abstract argues that Craig Biggio was as good Griffey during the 1990's. The argument was that while Griffey hit many more homeruns than Biggio, Biggio was better than Griffey in almost everything else. Higher average, higher on base, more games played, fewer doubles play hit into, etc. That's not to diminish Griffey's ability. Bonds, even excluding the late career surge, was probably one of the top ten players of all-time. No shame in being worse than him. Griffey was a joy to watch and one of the handful of best players every year of his prime. EDIT: Plus who could forget his great thespian turn in Little Big League.
