Has anybody seen this movie yet? From what I have heard and read it is getting great reviews and it really has my interest peaked. It's available but in limited release so I'm not sure if I'll be able to see it before it actually comes out in the home video market. Anybody planning to see this or has anybody seen it yet?
I posted a thread about the Hurt Locker and 500 Days of Summer last week, but got only 1 reply. Hopefully this movie will be good.
Oops, there is already a thread on this movie? I did a search and came back with nothing. If there is, lock it up.
I really want to see this but I don't think it will come out where I live. I guess it doesn't have enough explosions for a wide release.
Another typical "indie" flick along the lines of Juno and Garden State. That being said, I will definitely go see this. I love me some Joseph Gordon-Levitt, he's a real good actor, but I don't think he's capable of keeping this movie afloat all by himself. Zoey Deschannel is not so bad on the eyes, either. If I'm not mistaken, this is the 2nd time these two are working together. I saw them in 'Manic' and that was a good flick. Check it out. Looks entertaining to say the least. Can't wait.
I saw this movie last week. It's my favorite movie of the year so far. A chick flick, but from a guys perspective. It's more like "Say Anything" or "High Fidelity" than it is like Juno or Garden State.
Saw this last night, damn this was a very well made movie, on point with relationship cliches and with all the relationship threads in this board, most can probably relate Spoiler "You know what I need" - classic stuff the split screen with expectations and reality was pure genius, everybody goes through that I'm kinda slow, but can anybody explain to me where in the beginning they showed how Tom was watching "The Graduate" and the narrator mentions how he "misunderstood" the ending, then after Summer watches it with him, they breakup? Forgive me for not watching "The Graduate" in advance and yea, Minka Kelly is my new Hollywood crush.... (damn you Jeter)
I saw a trailer for it weeks ago when I saw Whatever Works at River Oaks and it looked dumb, but now I find out it is getting good reviews
Just watched this. It's a powerful movie. I will tell you that if you are a guy you will live and die with the male lead in the movie. When he hurts, you will feel hurt. When he is happy, you feel happy. This movie really had an effect on me. Not many do.
Indeed an awesome flick! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2seAJsrtIbQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2seAJsrtIbQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I saw this a week ago and I thought it was an excellent movie. The "Day #'s" makes the non-linear storytelling very easy to follow. And the film did a good job of showing the ups and downs of a relationship from a guy's point of view. Considering how many brutal break-up threads pop up on this board, I figure that quite a lot of the member here will be able to relate to this movie.
Spoilers for the Graduate. The movie's over 40 years old but whatever. Spoiler The Graduate is a movie that on the surface has a happy ending, where the guy runs off with the girl in the end. But the movie makes a point to linger a little longer on the couple's reactions at the end and it seems like they're not that happy and have made a mistake. So I guess Tom thought of it as a regular happy ending while most people would see it as ambivalently bittersweet.
