Richard Smalley and Robert Curl. Rice professors who won the Nobel prize for discovering carbon-60, which enabled the entire nanotechnology field to develop. I might also add that I was in both of their chemistry classes as a freshman scholar at Rice.

George H W Bush deserves a mention, also.

I saw "lil flip" perform at halftime of one of the Rockets games last year. What a no talent azz clown. His live performance was worse than what I personally witnessed from Ashlee Simpson at the Orange Bowl this year.

I don't even know who "dj screw" or "mike jones" are.

How Tilman Fertitta hasn't made this list yet is astounding.

He is one of the richest Houstonians, but not one of the most important, IMHO.....unless bland overpriced restaurant food is important to you.

Kemah and the Aquarium are just the beginning. If you follow reports on this guy, he has a grand agenda for Houston.

That makes me scared. The food at his restaurants sucks elephant ass. The best thing he could do for Houston is to buy the Astros from Drayton...then he could pour his money into it. Only problem is, all of the concessions at Minute Maid would be Joe's Shack of Groin Crabs and Landry's Seafood Toilet.

I took the family to the acquarium last weekend and find myself whole heartedly agreeing about the food.

Not even taking price into consideration, just the food itself was the worst I've had at a resteraunt in years. HORRIBLE.

The attractions were kind of nice. The Shark Train was highly disappointing.

I won't ever go back there. 4 adults and 1 child, lunch and all the attractions set us back over $200.

Im going to Moody Gardens next time.
