im surprised no one made a thread about todays hail. worst hail ive ever seen in houston. damaged every vehicle that was outside. thank goodness i was driving my brothers vehicle. my brothers vehicle now has 2 nice big fat dents and a bunch of small ones
we just had some hellacious weather in austin. my power was out when i got home and was out for about an hour till just now.
Ah, weather. It's been quiet here in NM and AZ, but it's turning increasingly hot, dry, and windy... the area around Ruidoso and the Lincoln National Forest is as bad as I've ever seen it, Sangre de Christo and Jemez Mountains are on par with 2002, and the Gila area is as dry as I can remember. This is the first year I can recall where NM is significantly worse off than AZ. We'll have fires in the lower elevation grasses, the mid-elevation pinyon-juniper, and the high elevation timber when usually it's only high or low we have to worry about. Good news is we're 10-14 days away from kicking into high gear and monsoons look like they are on schedule with lots of rain in July, so we only have to hold on for 6-8 weeks. Still, I expect we'll have 1-2 major national news type fires in the Ruidoso area and the same between Santa Fe and Taos. Throw in the usual AZ big fires below the Mogollon Rim and Southern AZ/Tucson, and it will be a rough time for us.
We had some crazy weather here in Austin too. I don't know how it happened, but basically every square foot of carpet in my apartment is now completely soaked. I heard a really loud noise right before it happened, I'm assuming that a pipe broke underneath my apartment.
wow that really sucks. i had water creeping in my neighbors apt. i was helping her set stuff down to block it. the trees were blowing in the wind so hard that they leaned over and ripped my wind chimes off my balcony. now there hanging in the tree...
I heard it was raining pretty bad up north around 1960 area. My friend called me from the Wal-mart there and said the lights went out. He was in the food section so I told him to go eat some grapes or bananas.
that nasty weather that came thru austin earlier this evening stopped me from getting some ass. not cool, mother nature. but boy am i thankful for covered parking (i had literally washed my car about 2 hours before it started raining).
It seems like more people on this board are from Austin than Houston... With that said, the weather was crazy here in Austin today!
The 8th floor in Jester East flooded, the window by the elevators broke, it seemed like an explosion, crazy stuff.
things happen for a reason. the ass will be coming your way tommorow. as it will for me fri and sat. by 2 different lovely ladys. and boy do they hate each other....
I barely made it home before it started raining (around 5:30 pm). No Hail, It actually was very breif. Thank God I have a parking garage to park my truck in I live in midtown.
What the hail? There was hail yesterday? I know it had rained sometime between 8:30 and 10:30, but I didn't see any hail.
we had some on and off storms yesterday afternoon on the west side of town...but nothing major. no hail out here.
