The Rockets are now 1-20 after trailing going into the fourth quarter! 1-20 is dismal and shows that the Rockets have no comeback ability. The statistic is an abomination and will certainly come back to bite the Rockets in the playoffs. My question is, what's the cause? Why are the Rockets (for the most part) so bad in the 4th? Could it be a mental block? A lack of conditioning? Showing their age? The Hornets lead was only 3 points going into the fourth and yet it seemed like the Rockets never had a prayer after that shot by ...West? I don't remember who hit it... Thoughts?
lost due to 8-men rotations. Everybody's tired in the 4th quarter. If anyone can find the stats of roxs scorebox in the 4th quarter no matter win or lost, that will tell everything. Sometimes eventhough they won 10+, they were still outscored in the 4th quarter with all the starters on the court. So conclusion: 8-men rotation sucks. Everybody plays at the fixed time instead of rotation adjustments according to different opponents.
I know we all get tire of the harping on JVG, but man, that stat is really indicative of a lack of coaching adaptation, imo. When we're down, it's because our system isn't working, and there's basically nothing we do to change it in order to make a comeback.
No defense, no rebounding, poor shooting, no penetration, didn't get any calls from the refs. That's why we lost.
They are a mentally weak team......it is easy to hit shots when you are ahead, not so much when you are fighting from behind. They tighten up.........missed free throws, lack of aggressive shots, getting beat on defense....mental mistakes. The Rockets team is not tough enough....they have not turned that corner where they truly "believe" right now they just hope. DD
rox doesnt have any tough physical and aggresive players except for mac. that's very very important in closing mins.
T-Mac is not tough, he missed a big free throw late in the game......and he was settling for a lot of jumpers, instead of driving. Tmac is just as copable as the rest of the mental midgets. DD
A deeper rotation all together would solve that problem, because when you have Rafer and Shane playing over 35 mins a night what do you expect. Use all those guys sitting on the bench. I thought the owner was supposed to pay these guys to play basketball not be spectators. If we use V-Span, Bonzi, and Tsak. It's not gonna hurt the team at all.

this has to be on JVG. i defend him on most other topics but this one is all him IMO. he is poor at making in game adjustments. when a team is beating us, he doesn't know how to mix things up and regain an advantage.
And what if those guys suck while in there? And what if the starters come back and keep sucking against a team that has their number? 8 man rotation...yeah that's why the Suns are losing too...
well if we're 44-26 and 1-20 when trailing going into the 4th, then we're 43-6 when leading or tied going into the 4th. that's not exactly a ton of blown leads. apparently after 3 quarters you can pretty much call the game when we're involved.
