The Rox are two 'under' maximum roster size. I don't expect a cut -- who??? I expect a trade, likely Howard NOT BECAUSE HE'S NOT THE BEST OPTION FOR THE ROX AT THE 4 BUT BECAUSE HE'S THE BEST TRADE BAIT ON THE SQUAD (WHO IS TRADABLE). [Lue is 2nd on the most tradables].
OK... you can "expect" a trade all you want, but don't be surprised when Pagent or Gaines comes up with an injury to keep the roster at 12 with one spare player. With guys like Spoon and Deke, we will need to carry an extra body for insurance. Besides, if they traded Howard... wouldn't they get another player in return, thus keeping their overall roster numbers the same @ 12+1 xiki, you seem to know your players - but you have an almost "tinman" like obsession with Howard. Is it just wishful thinking on your part that the Rox make another deal, or are you a closet Howard hater that wants to see him gone (I am being serious) ?
I think he's still hoping for Howard to be traded for Kirk Hinrich.....don't forget to pay up at the tipjar when you lose the bet, xiki! Evan
What about MoT + 1st for Desmon Mason + Gadzuric The Bucks can then move Van Horn to the 3 and keep Joe Smith at center to have a better overall lineup. We then look like this: Yao/Deke/Gadzuric Howard/Spoon/Padgett JJ/Mason/Nachbar TMac/Nachbar/Sura/Gaines Sura/Ward/Lue/Gaines Just a thought.
The bet actually was that Hinrich would not be on Bulls' opening roster. I like Howard, but recognize his unique place as trade bait since Mo and Spoon aren't (from the overcrowded 4 slot).
Maybe this is a Padgett vs. Boki siging in case Boki doesn't work out. Boki is in the last year of his contract, so if he doesn't make the JVG cut this year they will probably move him.
bottom line is, all teams have a weakness here and there. No team is set at EVERY position w/quality players. We just need our weakness's not to be completely exploited.
