Maybe you should have just ordered the "Just one African American on the Astros" salad.

Even if the price went up at least you would be happy.

    :D

I always bring enough pennies with me to spell out the word TIP on the table for occasions such as this.

Next time, order the salad, enjoy it, and leave the TIP. To spell it out large enough, you need about 24 pennies.

    Good luck!!

Wouldn't "FU" require less pennies and accomplish the same?

Maybe......but I think there's nothing quote as sobering for someone in the service industry than seeing the word TIP spelled out in pennies when you go back to the table to retrieve your hard earned reward for good service.

FU is good......but I don't want to be profane......just want to get my point across loud and clear.

Are you posting in a thread which he created where he wonders if a white waitress at a Bennigan's in Arlington, Texas was being racist? His reaction is this thread and even wondering if her actions were racist. You can dissect the word anyway you want, but "overreact" is the word and according to the dictionary it means "to react with unnecessary or inappropriate force, emotional display, or violence".

So the question isn't whether he "acted", but did he "react" and did he overly do so. Yes, if you consider this thread a reaction.

Sounds like an over reaction. If that's the case, I feel sorry for her cause I bet she got an ear full from her manager.

Totally depends on how she said it though. Could be the r word.

My guess is that she merely did not make herself clear in speaking and in doing so she comes across as some dumb broad

At least she didn't ask "why don't you speak in ebonics?"

if she were truly racist, my guess is she would have ignored you and not bothered to take your order to begin with

If AB went out of his way to speak to a manager, he reacted and it's debate-able whether it was an overreaction.

During my Subway incident, I could have spoken to a manager about his/her ignorant employee who assumes all Asians have thick accents. He could have chosen to ignore it like I did which would have been no reaction or underreaction.

once again...can somebody please answer my question of 'when the hell did cheapness become a stereotype of black people anyway'?????

this kid's trying to force stereotypes that never even existed upon his race just so he can call some poor girl racist and then b**** and moan to everybody that he's been a victim of racism.

The fact he spoke to the manager, I can understand, if it was over her just being crabby or seemingly rude. Would I have done it? No, but he has the right to do that. If he went up to the manager with "she's acting racist", that's another overreaction.

That being said, I finally saw some of your act on stage AB, and it was pretty damn funny. I'd buy you a salad (if it's less than $4.98). :D

    I think one of the key questions is;

Why would she suddenly feel the need to start 'backtracking'/apologizing/explaining herself in the first place?

    Quit overreacting.

the use of the word 'kid' is real necessary, too.

Just to reiterate what has already been said, it was an obvious overreaction on the part of AB. Too trigger happy/over-sensitive.

The bottom line is that the race thing could end up being career limiting for you. I suggest moving on from your hypersensitivity. It led to a total dud joke and sour moment on the Late Late Show, as you are no doubt aware. People don't like to hear it. It's accusatory and puts people off.

    Real Issue:

Why is the Kikenny Chicken Salad $8 in Connecticut and only $6.99 in Dallas?

    Explain.
