it's gone from bad to worse. wesley is doing a good job but thats about it. tmac has been in a funk, luther has hit the wall, and rafer isn't a realy shooter.

while i like the james for rafer trade a lot we definitely lost shooting. now the waiving of JB just means that we are in for some ugly shooting.

sure, we need a backup PG, a defensive minded PF, and a 3rd scorer, but 3 point shooting has to be a top priority this summer. we will never keep up with the mavs and suns if we cant shoot. tmac and yao won't ever be at thier best when the defense can sit back in a zone and clog the paint.

please get sopme shooters. infact, since we are looking to sign a backup PG...make sure he is a good 3pt shooter first and foremost.

It's difficult to have consistent shooters, unless a guy like Mike Miller is on the trading block and we're willing to take on his contract.

I would take on Mike Millers contract....we need someone who can shoot.

I am actually shocked that we released Jon Barry, he would have been HUGE tonight.

tonight is a perfect example. i'm so dissapointed right now that i'm starting to lose hope about the playoffs. poor shooting continues to lose us games that we should otherwise win.

our guards should just shoot 1000 3's before games that would help!

Shooting guard is an Oxymoron for this team!
I could care less about a back up point- for heaven's sake get Glen Rice! ( yes we are that bad!)

    No I disagree..

What I think our shooters need to do is not take any threes for awhile and focusing on the midrange game for a bit.

I hate all the three's anyways and would prefer a closer 2 pt shot.

I don't for the life of me understand why we take so many 3 pointers when we are not a good 3 point shooting team. Alston, DW and Luther all camp out on the 3 point line waiting to take 3 pointers they invariably miss. The guys should pump fake and dribble in and take a shorter shot. Man I hope JJ Redick is available when we pick in the draft.

That's why I don't understand why we werent playing let alone let him just walk. He was the only person on the team that I knew if he was open for a shot, it was money.

Camping at the 3p line by these guys sounds like a coaching decision....

Barry and Padgett and James Oh my! (sounds like something from the wizard of oz).

I have been harping on this subject for some time now, the Rockets are a poor shooting team this year. No one but TMac should be allowed to take a 3, and right now, maybe nobody should shoot threes. Consistently missing wide open jumpers is demoralizing, and if you have ever played this game you know this to be true. You bring it down, work hard, struggle for position, get the wide open shot and clang! Extremely frustrating, it just sucks the life out of a team. They just waived the last pure shooter on the team. I don't know what the Rockets are doing.

Isn't Tmac shooting like 29% from 3pt land?

This team is a bad shooting team, but they can get better...they should be attacking the basket if the 3s arent falling.

    Just need to play smarter.

Hey, T-Mac was 3/6 from 3 pt. land tonight. I think (hope) he's coming out of that funk.

And leave it up to this board to start wanting the players to not take 3's because they've had 2 bad games.

The Suns' game, and tonight. Both Wesley and Rafer were shooting atrociously. Head has not been on his game lately. Bogans is inconsistent.

Before that, they were hot from 3 pt. land. Let them get it back, they will eventually.

I'm not, however, advocating that if they're shooting this terribly in a game to take anymore threes. I agree both Wesley and Alston should have given it to T-Mac for those 3's or Yao on the low block.

Once you're shooting 1/4 or 0/4, there's not much you're going to do. Just pass the ball.

We're about as bad a shooting team from the outside as the Denver Nuggets, may be worse.

Without consistent 3pt shooters, we can't be taking all these shots, even if they're open. The catch 22 is that camping out on the 3pt line helps give Yao space to work and he's been dominant lately. So we can get some 3pt shooting during the offseason, but what the heck do we in the meantime?

JVG himself acknowledged that "we are a bad shooting team". Then why didn't he let the guards penetrate more?

Well, if Barry signs with Nuggets, then we are officially the worst 3-pt shooting team. :p
