Im sure most of you were thinking like me...we would have a 7 game winning streak going to LA next week vs. the Clippers. Now, last nights game was very disappointing...maybe our toughest loss of the year. Instead of 4 back, we're 6 back AGAIN. My point is that we now HAVE to win 3 out of next 4. The Jazz and Knicks *should* be locks, so that basically comes down to beating the Clippers or Suns next week on the road. I think if we can win 3 of our next 4 then we'll be in good shape heading to the all-star break. If somehow we won the next 4 I think for sure that would put us within 4, maybe even 3. Keep your heads up....this thing isnt over yet!
i agree. there is plenty of opportunity here. tmac needs to shake off his funk. hopefully there is another trade in the works that will clear up our backcourt. our biggest weakness is perimeter defense. hopefully bogans will fix that. the next thing we need to work on is our post defese. our PF's can't guard anyone one-on-one in the post. that will have to wait for the summer tho since that would mean a big move. if i could make a trade for us right now i would move wesley for troy hudson. hudson kills 2 birds with one stone. we need a backup point, and a 3rd scorer. he can be our 6th man and come off the bench to score like mike james did.
Yeah, well we SHOULD have won the game last night. "SHOULD" doesn't seem to mean squat to these Rockets. No heart at all last night.
Ok my heads up and i'm ready for another go around. We all knew they weren't gonna go undefeated anyway right? Hell i'd take a huge win over phoenix over a play-like-crap loss to the Lakers any day of the week. I haven't lost hope, hopefully the players haven't either.
Good outlook, I think come next monday we'll be 6-1 over our last 7 games heading into both of those match ups, if we can get a win against either a 7-2 run going into the All Star break wouldn't be anything to be ashamed of.
Wel will probably split the next four games at best. Here is how I look at it: had this team been healthy from day one, they would be flirting with 50 wins (around may be 46-48 wins), and would be good enough for a middle seed in the playoffs. They would probably advanced to the 2nd round as long as they avoided the Spurs/Mavs/Suns in the 1st round, and then once in the 2nd round, they would've likely been exposed and lost. Now, what's a 46-36 season, a 56% or so winning rate? I think with the quality of players we have over the grind of an 82 game season would have won about 6 times out of every 10 games. Now that's good, sure, but not great. I think it's difficult to expect us to win "2 out of 3" or "3 out of 4" when this team just isn't that good. Last year they had some serious chemistry and players that played their roles to perfection; everything just clicked last season. I don't see that happening again, quiet frankly, not only because of the fact that these players haven't played together for long enough and still need to develop chemistry, but also because our collective IQ as a team went down considerably, and also because those same players that were doing well last season aren't doing that this season. I just think last season was a fluke and won't be the case this time around. We have no more than a 15-20% chance of winning at a 66-70% clip from now until the end of the season, we're far too inconsistent for that.
I cant say that you are wrong because you arent. But, i think we will win the next 2, then im going out on a limb and im gonna say that we'll beat the Clippers. I just think that with Yao and Tracy that we can pretty much hang with anyone....IF THEY COME TO PLAY!!!!
